I read the book that Nancy had put together of the love letters that he had written her over the years, and he truly loved her.
I am sure she is going to miss him dearly.

What is sad, is having to have lost him bit by bit over the last 10 years. I am happy for what must be a sense of release for Nancy,, as I know it's so hard to know that someone is slipping away from you so slowly, and you can't do a thing about it.

I sincerely hope she can find peace after this.

I am just shocked - I mean, I knew he had been ill, but I never imagined coming home today to read about this.

He was a great man, and will be missed greatly.

I know he was old, but the past 10 years, like someone said to deteriorate and not be able to do anything about it... so so sad My grandma died of this terrible disease.

This was really a shock. This morning at work we were listening to the radio and they said on a news break that his health was rapidly declining and that he had only weeks or months left, then I get home and find it was really only hours he had left.

I am proud to have been able to call him my Commander in Chief during my time in the US Army.
