President has traffic screwed up

Bush is in Scranton today, so traffic is stopped around the airport for security reasons. He had a meeting at a local hospital about reforming malpractice insurance laws in PA, then he's giving a speech at my alma mater, BS & MBA, the University of Scranton. Staff was told not to report to work at the school today so there would be enough parking for the 1,000 invitees. Secret Service had booked 45 rooms at the local Radisson hotel prior to his arrival to scope everything out. From what I hear from our couriers, half of the roads in Scranton are blocked off and traffic is horrible.

Ahh, the joys of hosting a dignitary.

He comes here (to Atlanta) frequently. Do ya think anyone in his entourage or planners have ever heard of rush hour??????? It seems traffic is always going to blocked/rerouted during a rush hour.

Hey RU, I'm from the Scranton area too, and an alum of the UofS. Besides the pres going to Mercy and "da U", Rendell is supposed to be at Moses Taylor. It should be a regular media circus. Thankfully I'm here in Throop during the day and don't have to go into town until tomorrow. Can you believe it's all happening within a 4 or 5 block area? DH was supposed to go to Moses today, but couldn't decide if he wanted to attempt it or not.

Belle, I have to agree. I thought as I wrote this that all of the New Yorkers are probably thinking, "oh, boo hoo."

According to the weather bug on my computer, it's a balmy 21 degrees now in Dunmore, which happens to share a zip code with Throop, is it colder where you are Mskanga? Where in the poconos?

Aside from that, Debbie, we love the Library's pizza and Pietro's is great!

The Library and Pietro's are just up the street from us. Haven't been to either in a while though. (Don't they say that if it's close to home, you forget that it's there?) Jessup isn't known for much else, except the famous Saint Ubaldo Day.

I'm just ready to leave work : and brave the chilly temps We'll be dressing like the eskimos soon..... I need to get one of those automatic starters for my car so it's warm when I get in. This winter is as cold as the summer was hot!
