For those of you who have done Haunted Mansion, ToT, and anything else with scary Preshows. How did your children handle it? Ours is 5 and I am worried that she will be freaked out by the preshow. I mean even I find the hanging body in the Haunted House, the earie CM's, and the windowless room a little spooky. Please let me know if you have any experiences with the preshows and any suggestions on how to make it easier on our DD.

Worked for my DS. After "Grim Grinning Ghosts" a hundred times, he thinks HM is hilarious! He keeps expecting Donald Duck to pop up behind the ghoulies.

When we first took our DD to Haunted Mansion, we told her before hand what the CM were going to do and they were just playing that they were not going to hurt her and that they would not touch her. DH carried her in and told her if she got scared just to close her eyes and cover her ears if she wanted. When we first went into Haunted Masion we had her concentrate on the pictures of the people in their underwear rather than the hanging body, in fact I don't think she knew that existed until she was older. Also told her before hand that the lights were going to go out and the doors would open. When she first did TOT it was our first time too and I belive she was about 4 or 5 and she didn't find that pre-show to scary, DH also held her during preshow which I think helps alot. Hope these suggestions help!

When I went last May. my DD (8) wanted to go in HM but I was a big chicken:D So I did bring her in and we thought it wasn't so bad. that is one of her fravorite rides

My husband, 7 year old and 4 1/2 year old all did HM. They were fine.

I used the chicken exit at the last moment. I have nothing against ghouls and gore - but they tried to lock me in a room filled with people at the start - and I'm pathetically claustrophobic.

I think it really depends on your children. If I had prepped my 6 year old DS, he'd have been afraid just because he'd probably figure we expected it. I told him just before we went through the doors that it was all pretend. He loved it. We went on it two more times during e-night. He says it's his favorite ride now.
