Are these allowed on board? My daughter got bitten by we think a spider and now she is on antibiotics. Of course we're on the Magic this Saturday and she'll be taking medicine for 10 days straight as a precaution. Do you know what the rules & policies are regarding medicine? Are there fridges in the cabins? If anyone is an expert on spider bites, I welcome advice!

Put all prescription medication in your carry-on and you won't have a problem. I am taking my son's small nebulizer and associated medication just in case we have a problem - I spoke to DCL to confirm they didn't have one and they recommended bringing any equipment and/or meds we may need. The beverage cooler in the room is nice and cool, but definitely not as cold as a fridge. If your meds require refrigeration, call DCL.

do i need a doctor's note as to why she's on antibiotics? i'm bringing my son's asthma medicine & my migraine meds.

If you have the medicines in the original bottles, there would be no reason to have a doctor's note....everything anyone needs to know is on the prescription label.
I don't think immigration of customs cares who is taking what, they just care that it was legally prescribed.
I take blood pressure medicine and at home keep it in one of those Monday-thru-Sunday pill dispensers so I remember to take it . I left that at home and just put a piece of paper in the bottle and marked down each day I took it .

Many medications now come in GIANT bottles because of 90 day mail order prescription services that our prescription coverage requires us to use. I take the labels off the big bottles and put them on smaller bottles that will hold a couple of weeks worth of pills. Takes up WAY less space in the bag.

I kept my daily meds in the Sunday thru Friday container so I could remember them, but I had the containers with the original prescription on them along also.

The only thing you need to be aware of is that the counselors in the Club/Lab can't administer medicine so depending on what the dosage schedule is, you may have to drop in to give her medicine if she has to take it when she would be in the club.

Hi all:wave2:
If you carry your meds on board in the original bottle, you will not have any problems with Disney security. I have sent for and received a Disney Cruise Line Guest Medicine Information Form. I will need a fridege for my insulin on the cruise as the cooler/fridge is not as cold as the refridgerator they will replace it with. I also require a cpap for a restful sleep. I called DCL yesterday and they CM also said I should send one of the forms in for the cpap machine, and to keep a copy of the forms when boarding the ship.. A lot has changed since 9-11, so don't take it lightly. I know you probably don't need the fridge for the anti-biotics (unless in liquid form) but if you do I can send you or anyone a copy of the form in pdf format through an e-mail.. Hope this helps

.

I have also hung onto the bottles from my original 30 day supply just for trips.

This is off topic, but watch those mail in pharmacies. I use Advance RX and they sent me the WRONG medicine once, one I had an allergic reaction to. Also, I only get 1 of the 3 blood pressure medicines I use from them because the local retail price at my pharmacy for a 90 day supply is LESS than the co-payment Advance RX charges.

Steve is a pharmacist and I used to work in the pharmacy. If you do get a 90 day supply, simply tell the pharmacist you are traveling and could he reprint another label and put it on a smaller bottle. Then you don't have to fool with trying to get that label off the big one. That pharmacy tape is stong stuff! I am sure your local pharmacist will be happy to oblige.

That's right, with computer labels it's just a moments work. If you ask nicely, they may even give you a small RX bottle to put it in. We always did when I was working pharmacy.
