Preschool Teacher Gift Advice

My Daughter is in a preschool two days a week at our Church. With the holidays coming up, I figure that we should get her teacher and the teacher's aid something for Christmas.

Does anyone have any idea about what a good gift would be and what an appropriate amount to spend is?

I was thinking a gift certificate somewhere, so that they can get what they want, but I wasn't sure if that was too impersonal.

I have decided on a GC to Borders. I want to write a note about buying something for themselves (the school is fine with supplies and such), but I am not sure how to word it.

I give a gift basket with a candle, 2 soup mixes & bread mixes. So they can have an easy meal.

Price, maybe $20.00-$30.00. You could get them a nice flower arrangement that they could have for their holiday table-I would have loved that when I was teaching.
Gift certificates are always a great idea for anyone. Is there a coffee shop there that specializes in little homemade treats, that they could go and relax at.

When I was a preschool teacher, I received a few GCs, but never for more than 10 or 15 dollars. They were usually for someplace like Barnes and Noble or a restaurant.

I received alot of baked goods, picture of the child in a pretty frame, ornaments, pretty candle or vase or flowerpot, etc. I always appreciated anything and everything I got - I'm sure your teachers will too

Last year I gave my daughter's preschool teachers movie gift cards for a local theatre... I spent $15 each for the teacher aids and gave the teacher $25.
