I'm looking around and see the offer at what looks to be a reasonable price to stay at a DVC resort. It states that it's for sales stuff. Being a timeshare owner currently, I'm curious as to how DVC does theirs? Do you get to vacation "quietly", or do you do your 90 minute presentation/tour while there? It says someone will contact you afterward, but that might be in addition..

I'm not sure where you are seeing this offer. To my knowledge, DVC has never offered free or discounted stays at the WDW DVC resorts. They have done it for HHI and Vero. Those trips did require both members of a married couple to attend a 90 minute presentation.

DVC is very soft sell. There is no worry that they won't unlock the door and let you out until you put down a deposit like some other timeshare presentations are famous for. ;)

Are you sure this is Disney Vacation Club? I know of no offer to stay at DVC at a discounted price in the interest of selling DVC. They don't usually do that, I don't think.

And if they do, they don't pressure you very much if at all, so if there is some sort of offer to stay at a DVC resort in exchange for taking a tour, I'd take it.

Just be sure it's Disney Vacation Club. I've gotten other timeshare calls telling me to come to Disney World for 4-5 nights for some ridiculously low price, but it's NOT DVC, although if I didn't know better I might make that mistake.

Actually, it's Hilton Head I was looking at.

I'm not quite sure how to answer this. If you take advantage of that offer they will just either send you a video about DVC or send you one in the mail. I don't believe that they have any DVC sales staff at HH. I know they don't at VB.

You won't be bombarded and won't have to sit through any presentation.

One thing, I thought I read that HH just sold out but I'm sure Disney is still letting people take advantage of this because they figure you will stay at the resort, see the video and if you buy into DVC you can just buy at one of the resorts at WDW.

You will get to vacation quietly and if anyone from DVC ever contacts you it will not be a hard sell and if you don't want to talk to them they will understand.

If you find a special rate for HH, grab it!

There is no longer a sales office at the resort and it has apparently sold out, so it's unlikely you'll find much bother from anyone at the resort.

The resort is great and you'll find the area wonderfully relaxing.

Enjoy!

My Aunt and Uncle received a postcard offer last year.
You could get a standard view room at WL (not VWL) for $124 or a studio at OKW for $174 a night. You had to agree to make an appointment with a DVC guide to take advantage of the room rates.
They originally had a room booked but then decided to cancel because they got a code for POR instead. (My Aunt wants to purchase DVC but my Uncle cannot be convinced that it is a good deal).:(
