Pres. Bush & More DVC Cont Rumours

I figure if they build it, all these folks will FLOOD the market trying to sell thier points so they can buy at CR. And taht is one place where I expect Buy Where You Want To Stay to REALLY matter.

It hold NO appeal for me...Villas at AK with a Savannah view... I am in. I don't think I will buy any points for anything else.

Poly is my first and AKL is my second for Wish List. If I knew CR was going to be the ONLY monorail DVC then maybe, but I just can't see it happening that way. I was always surprised there is no resort on the monorail from TTC to Epcot... not sure if the land can't support it, but that is a longer ride (why I know the exact time involves a story not suitable for boards such as these involving the monorail) and it would be cool to build a new resort on that line.

No interest here in owning at CRV - wouldn't mind a visit or two, but that's a looooong drive to get off-property.

I am geeked up for the "DVC at every Disney Resort" idea! Could you imagine the Pop Century Villas (PCV)? ;) ;) ;)

Low point time would be during Pop Werner / Cheerleader events!

-2 points for Sun-Thur studios at PCV (which also applies to the furnishings, BTW!)

+2 points for weekends studios.

We could stay for a 6 point credit during the first week on December, Sign me up! (Monorail? we don't need no stinking Monorail!)

So why do so many people seem not to like CR? That was the first Disney property I stayed on. Well, the first time at WDW I stayed in my grandparents' RV in Fort Wilderness, so maybe it seemed like a big step up for me. :) My husband attended a conference at the CR, so our then 6-month-old and I got to tag along. DS and I had a wonderful time exploring WDW, riding the buses and monorails and just getting to know the whole place. And splashing around in the pool...absolute heaven. I also liked all the water around and being able to stroll over the Magic Kingdom.

The Garden Rooms were nothing special, but if DVC built there, I would think the new buildings and facilities would be pretty fantastic.

Anyway, I was just curious about this. I'm eagerly counting the days (TWO) until we leave for SSR. I'm just ridiculously excited about getting to WDW, although I was a little dismayed to see that the temps will be in the 60s this week. I've been hoping for 80s!

The CR was the first place I ever stayed at (at ages 12 and 14) and was the first place we stayed at when I took my wife and son to WDW. The place has a lot of memories for me, particularly since my parents have both passed away.

That being said, the CR suffers from the same problem that Tomorrowland did - it has that dreaded "future as seen from the late 60's" look and feel. The Disney theming is really quite minimal; IMHO, if it wasn't a monorail resort, it would have faded away long ago (or become the convention center that it has). The facilities are indeed impressive, but when compared to such delights as the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian, the poor dear just doesn't hold up.

IMHO - YMMV

I heard that was the plan over the next decade... DVC at all Deluxe resorts...

I also heard that the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian would not be included.
