Okay, so if I get ahold of Disney as soon as it's possible to book a package in May 2008 (I want PP hotel accommodations and tickets to the parks), do I have to pay them then, or is it like generic hotel reservations where I have a "hold" on the package and then need to pay for it by X date, or ??? I want to make our plan as soon as I can so we know we're good to go, but I don't want to tie up my money with Disney for upwards of a year or however long it ends up being. What are your experiences?

I know one option might be to do the 0% financing for six months with the Disney Visa, which MIGHT be the way to go for us if we have to pay that far in advance.

PS Earlier this month I posted a thread about WHEN we might be able to book in '08 and it still sounded open-ended and vague according to Lostgirlz, who is antsy like me and when she called they said that they were all having to be trained on whatever new promotion they're gonna do next year. So it won't be until later this summer at the earliest that we can book at this point.

Disney travel will require a $200 deposit ($300 if you purchase trip insurance) to hold your reservation. You need to pay the balance no later then 30 days before the trip. If you book airfare as part of it, it will depend on the airline and any special limits on the tickets. Although, I doubt they would let you book airfare this far out.

AAA does about the same thing, there is also a charge for changing the ressie once it it made.

As far as AAA goes there is a charge if you change anything on your trip by downgrading it.....there is no charge for add-ons except for the cost of the add-on. So for instance if you originally book a 4 night 3 day trip and change it to 3 night 2 day trip they will charge you. If you change it from a 4 night 3 day to a 5 night 4 day they only charge you the extra hotel stay and park hopper [or whatever else your getting.] Hope thats not too confusing:lmao:

Just give them a call, they are open untill 8 PST. I call them a few times before I book, as well as AAA. Once I get all my ducks in a row I decide what to do.
They will not have 2008 schedule untill Sept or later (I have mad many reservations for Jan, so I know this oh so well).
They are great people, so call them as often as you'd like.

best of luck
