From reading the threads on here, I see that there is no real point or need to pre pay gratuities unless you just want to get it over with and not have to worry about it, which is exactly why I would want to prepay them. My question is...I have already PIF even though my PIF date is not until June 28th. Can I go ahead and prepay the gratuities or do I need to wait until I can do online check-in and prepay them then? Thanks in advance! You guys are always really helpful!

I always pre pay and there is a lot of point to it.

I pre paid mine for my last two cruises well before the PIF date you can do it at any time.

As you say

  • No need to worry about it.
  • Budget.
  • Not debit your stateroom account every day.
  • The payment is subjective to the recommended tip not your over spend budget on the ship, what you have left.
  • Being in the UK I pre pay when the £ is good against the $ so save money.
  • You can always change them on board, up/down.
  • Still get the tip tickets and envelopes.
Just call DCL when you want and pre pay them.

I believe you can pre-pay gratuities at any point up until at 3 days prior to the cruise, and since you must call to do so possibly even closer.

Enjoy your cruise!

I have been over and over the dcl site and have never found a place that says prepay gratuity, is this a call only policp

Thank you I have prepay on ncl before and it was real easy online I can't believe dcl doesn't have a similar setup.
