Prepay Amazon visa or buy Disney GC?

I leave on my Florida trip in 2 days. 13 days away , with 7 of them on the Disney Fantasy.

To avoid most foreign exchange fees, I can still use my amazon visa (we come back on the 13th, what luck!) but it's got a rather low limit and I really don't want to track spending to a T while on vacation and with an exchange rate making this more complicated. Should I pre-pay some amount on that visa, or just buy Disney gift cards with another credit card that gives points? Are they about the same?

Great question... My DW works at RBC we are seeing someone this evening about US accounts, Visa Card etc. I will report back with what I find.

Certainly nothing stopping you from doing this, but don't go too overboard. You don't want to end up with a credit when the program winds down. They will issue out a refund, but that might take some time to process.

I did this my first year with Amazon for the same reason; actually did a transfer a couple of days into the trip from online banking to pay down the existing balance, but same effect. By the second year they had upped my limit and DW had signed up for a card too.

Do remember that it takes a couple of days for the payment to clear and appear as a balance on the card.
