Anybody want to give those "not so tech savvy" :lovestruc help on how to better our chances on Wednesday.

Specifically the opening of more than one window? Were you logged in to your Disney account in each window.

Those who used that app were you are on your home wifi or your data?

Does our wifi matter?

What is the pre-que que and how do I know if I'm in there?

How many minutes did they give you to complete your reservations?

Any wisdom you could help me with I would be very grateful. I am trying to get tickets to go for my birthday or surprise my husband for his birthday the following week. :)

Tickets and reservations go on sale Thursday (not Wednesday)

Specifically the opening of more than one window? Were you logged in to your Disney account in each window. - yes I was

Those who used that app were you are on your home wifi or your data? - wifi

Does our wifi matter? - don't know

What is the pre-que que and how do I know if I'm in there? - It says please wait and then it gives you a count down

How many minutes did they give you to complete your reservations? - I think it was 10

Follow the boards and hopefully someone will start a thread that morning. There were a lot of us helping and posting this morning.

Here's what I posted as a recap from today's experience. I'm going to be in there on Thursday as well, as I want to buy more tix and get a reservation for Grand Cal.

Process experience this AM: Thought it was super smooth and explained well in the screens that came up while waiting. Both computer (iMac) and iPhone (app) worked for me to make reservations. Was on WiFi. And, they both have continued to work the remainder of the day, as I check for updates.

My only glitch has been that my So Cal Resident 3-day park hopper tix aren't giving me availability after 5/13. Spoke with online agent. Technical glitch that has been elevated, advised to keep checking reservation calendars for more dates. ie, work in progress.

As somebody mentioned, it's Thursday, not Wed.

I had a computer running at home (WiFi) and I was on my phone, out (data). Both connected fine. The WiFi one had a faster countdown, but then got a "stitch ate the page" error message, while my phone got through. I don't know if the error message came because I was already accessing the reservation system from my phone?

I don't know how long it gave. I want to say 10 minutes, but because you have to book each day separately, I moved through it really fast to ensure I could get all 5 days (which in hindsight was something I didn't need to stress about today).

Good luck! I can't wait to hear about success stories on Thursday!

I tried logging in and going through the reservation process as far as I could without tickets this morning and it was pretty easy and quick. I got the count down que that was only maybe a minute when I did it (after 10 am). When I got to the point where it wanted me to attach my tickets I closed it. I was on my home computer running on wifi. I didnt try with my phone. Thursday I will likely try to get tickets and reservations as long as enough days in early june are availble when I can get on.

OP, I hope you don't mind if I piggy back on this with a follow up question -

How early did everyone get on? I have to do this at work, and I'm a teacher, so I have kids in my classroom at 8:30.....should be interesting....

Thank you all very much! Thursday! I don't know why I thought Wednesday!

So friends that had multiple windows open, did you feel like that's a better idea then, my iMac and my two college daughters pulling their MacBooks and our 3 iPhones?

Can I pre-log into all of these pages that are open in different windows or devices?

Another option for us would be logging in to my husbands account on some of the devices if that helps us.

I will 100% be on the boards checking in during the process. Thanks guys! :)

I started checking at 5am, but only because I couldn’t sleep, not because I thought it would actually be live. Then I checked again at 6 & 6:30 and I think it was about 6:55 that somebody posted here that the waiting room for the queue opened.

ETA: I sat in the waiting room until right after 8am, when it put me in the queue. It said “over an hour” but by 8:15 it was down to 15 mins and I had it all booked by 8:30.

I think the one thing that people really need to plan for - this might take hours.

This morning was a bit of an anomaly, since seemingly so few people already had tickets.

But with many more people trying - the queue itself could take some time.

This is what I'm thinking, too. Oh well, I have to teach. I guess I might get lucky or I might just go in July instead of June.

Yes! I agree that's why I've been thinking about it and how to go about doing it. My guess is it will be more like the ToD experience people had. Which is daunting. Praying for no internet outages on Thursday! :crazy2:

am I the only one that thinks the multiple windows/ devices is a bad idea that will actuall hurt/ slow down the process?
I was wondering if it would slow down my devices if I opened all of the pages on the same computer. But I was thinking of using multiple devices with different browsers...maybe...

From my experience, you can only open one queue page per browser. If I tried to open the queue 2 times in Chrome, for example, it gave me the same queue ID at the bottom of each tab, so it was just a duplicate of the other tab. I opened 1 queue in Chrome and 1 in Firefox per device. We have multiple computers/laptops in our house, so we did this on each one. The reason we did this is because they will just randomly assign you a spot in the queue. Some of my queue spots had really fast wait times, and some had very long times.

My husband's computer actually came up first, so he tried making the reservations. He kept getting the "Stitch ate the page" error, no matter what he did. In the meantime, the queue time on my computer came up, and I was able to make the reservation with no problem really.

If you're using multiple devices, I recommend logging in beforehand and saving your password when the browsers prompts you. The reason I say this is because once I got past the queue page, it asked me to log in again. I had the password saved, so it was no problem.

We don't really have enough information to determine what the advantages and disadvantages of multiple devices or browsers will be.

For instance, will the ticketing or reservation system prevent one account from have two active connections to the systems? For instance, does the system recognize that your account already has an active connection to the reservation system? If so, does it return an error or just create a redundancy? Someone with a ticket currently could test this by attempting to start two reservation connections at the same time and report back how the system handles it.

As far as devices, we can say that the main potential disadvantage arises from competing for bandwidth. Since the connection backlog will likely come from Disney's side, this downside should be fairly minimal. Given the widespread reporting that the App has functioned better than the web, it seems like a no brainer to at least use a phone and a computer. You might see a benefit by disconnecting your phone from your home internet, but that's speculative.

As far as multiple browsers, currently you can log into your Disney account from multiple browsers simultaneously without causing an error. If this is also true for the ticket and reservation systems, then the main potential downside to multiple browsers is the stress it puts on your computer processor and your bandwidth. The main advantage of multiple browsers comes in when refreshing offers some benefit. Since refreshing has reportedly solved the Stitch ate the page errors, this is a potential advantage to consider.

Multiple refreshes may also help to grab reservations if the system gets close to capacity and cancellations start to become available. All the wording from Disney seems to indicate that they won't hold reservations for you as you attempt to process them. If they were holding reservations (similar to how ticketmaster holds tickets) while you filled in your information, then refreshing to compete for reservations as they get released becomes a huge deal.

All this said, my plan will likely include two browsers (firefox and chrome) on my main computer, access from the app on my iphone, and another browser window with a separate IP on a separate computer. The bottom line, is we don't have enough tech info to confidently say what should be optimal.

I didn’t do ToD so maybe this can be answered by someone who did: once you purchase your tickets, do you automatically get redirected to the reservation system, or do you have to start over in a reservation queue once your tickets are purchased? If it’s the latter, do you think you can be in the queue for both ticket purchase and reservation at the same time on the same account?
