Preparing for rain

I just checked the HoJo Mattercam and didn't see any fireworks. Someone in the chat said they've been cancelled.

I was watching a live last night where at 9:25, they made an announcement that a decision had not been made on the fireworks… yet ToonTown was open.

Rain was light and wind speed was average, so kinda surprised but seems to be the norm now.

Jiminy is over at the Fantasyland Theatre. Disney did a great job with this set-up. "Holiday Fun with Santa & Friends"
Crafts, story time, singalongs, Holiday movies showing...

Wow! I've never seen him in the parks before. The Santa & friends event looks awesome. Have fun!

Fantasyland Theater was really well done. They had queues for Santa and characters in front of the tree (Goofy & Pluto, Chip & Dale). But there were also roaming characters, engaging with guests. Clarabelle was playing with the children and Gepetto was dancing with the adults. And, of course, there was Jiminy Cricket. It was whimsical and magical. I hope they keep that up all season.

We were there yesterday evening and most of the day today— even though it didn’t rain between about 11AM and 8PM it was a very rough day operationally— with two of the outdoor coasters down several hours today (I don’t think I saw Goofy’s Sky School open at all, Big Thunder was down most of the day, Incredicoaster was down much of the morning. Even It’s A Small World was down for a long stretch….but we had a nice time irrespective and the lines were not too long, given how much was down.

Highly recommend basically all the treats at the DCA Festival booths and the Christmas Tree Macaroon at Jolly Holiday was way better than I expected.

For the people who went besides the paradesnot happening and some outside rides like Big Thunder/Cars Racers being closed.

What else is not happening? Was Deadpool doing his show? How about the other Holiday shows at DCA? The Dapper Dans? Etc

Im looking at the Apple Weather app and for me its saying Rain today and Tomorrow/Friday/Saturday at Anaheim and searched Disneyland on it and it switched to Thursday/Friday...so hoping we get lucky mainly because I had to get up early to get the dinning seats for the Holiday Parade

I find Apple Weather to be really inaccurate. I don't know how it is for Anaheim/Disneyland but for my area it is unusable.

Looks like rain is arriving with the Holiday Season and lasting for a few days at least. I am wondering what locals use as the best weather predictor for Disneyland.

Accuweather got mentioned by multiple people, although of course it isn't perfect, either.

I thought if it was raining the parades did not happen

On Sunday, the rain stopped around 10:30 am. There was no rain the rest of the day. On Friday, CM danced around what would happen and when. By Sunday, it was almost as if rain was used as the excuse for everything (including restaurants opening late).

On Friday, characters carried umbrellas. On Sunday afternoon, CM said the characters wouldn't come out if there was any chance of getting wet. Today it wasn't raining at 3 pm for the first parade, but they did the rainy day cavalcade. It is supposed to rain at 5 pm so I think they didn't want the floats stuck outside the Main Street gate in the rain.

On Sunday, the rain stopped around 10:30 am.

It stared raining again around 8pm - a light rain that was on and off into the early morning hours. The CM told everyone the fireworks were cancelled and it would be a last minute decision as to whether they’d do the projection show… which isn’t the whole show but roughly the last 5 minutes or so where it “snows” on Main Street. But surprise - they did the fireworks anyway.

Very light crowd, which was nice. Literally everything that was open was a walk on. We did Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Splash, Winnie the Poo, Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and Mr. Toad after the fireworks. Only Peter Pan had a (small) wait.
