We have been to DLRP during January before and I remember it being VERY cold:sick: The boys were much younger then and didn't complain when I wrapped them up like michelin men. However they are now older and more argumentative :headache: and will think that I am an incredible fusspot but I am still worried about them getting cold and therefore miserable!

I have thought about buying ski trousers but wondered if anyone could tell me if these will be warm enough to wear or should you have a layer underneath.I can't see them in a pair of thermal longjohns so you can guess what I'm hoping the answer is ;)
Thanks x

We usually go in January too, and will be again in 2009. Ds2 wears ski trousers
with trackies under them. The bonus of layering is that when you go in for something to eat they can remove the the ski trousers. The problem we have is ds2 doesn't like wearing hats, scarfs, gloves or coats. :)

I bought my 2 Eisenegger Polar Fleece Joggers on Ebay and they were fabulous for our cold trips in March.
Can't help on the ski trousers though sorry.

How old are your boys? If they won't wear the traditional white longjohns Millets do some in colours or camoflage, I bought some for ds2 last year.:)

I just got some thermal joggers and jumper from M and M sports. They were only about £6 and they are thin but warm. my boys wore them last year while oy sledging under their ski trousers. The boys also wear normal trousers under their ski trousers sometimes and they say its fine and comfy. Also in m and m sports they are selling ski socks and gloves really cheap as well as the ski trousers. They also sell buffs. If your not sure what a buff is, it is like a tube you wear around your neck, like a scarf but you don't have any tails hanging down. Youe just pull it on over your head and it keeps you lovely and warm All my kids have them and love them

Thanks for the replies.:goodvibes
I think I'll get the ski trousers and get them to wear joggers underneath-I don't think they will moan too much. They are 13 and 10 so traditional thermals won't do.I did spot the millet ones-I might get them to have a look and see the reactions:upsidedow
Have just looked on ebay and ordered a pair of the fleece joggers for both the boys they look perfect :thumbsup2.Will also check out m and m.
