Preparing For October 8th

So Just a few questions....

I do not have a Disney Visa (don't believe in credit cards), so couldn't book discount today... but am fired up to do it on Tuesday!! Have a few questions

1.) Currently booked at BWI 3/27-4/5 with 9 day park hoppers and DDP.
2 adults, 2 kids. Cost $8251 at rack rate

My plan is to do a split stay BWI 3/27-3/31 With 8 day Park hopper and DDP, and CR garden wing, garden view 3/31-4/5 RO no DDP.

Here are my questions:

Should I attempt to apply RO discount to BWI reservation and shorten the stay there AND book CR at RO discount for that part of our stay on the same call? OR do I try to book the CR portion online at midnight, and call to switch BWI dates and apply discount?
Or do I just rebook online at midnight for both portions, cancel existing reservation and hope to have the $1100 i have already paid applied to new reservation?

I know I am WAY over thinking this! I am concerned that we won't get the discounts we need to stay at these resorts... no way am I paying 8k for this vacation.

I have my heart set on this split stay... Really want to do an Epcot/Monorail resort split... Oh what to do what to do....

Are you switching entirely to RO or are you going to do S/P/D for BW?--I assume you'll do whatever saves most money!

If your original reservation is a package--and you plan to keep a package and get S/P/D, then I would try and book the CR online when the discount opens--it's the same inventory as on-line and you would see if it's available. If it is, great, you book that and can then modify your existing BW package. If CR doesn't happen to be available, you will then have time to re-think your plans and decide on Plan B. (I would have a Plan B now, just in case--see, you're not overthinking!)I think this would be the cleanest--no having to transfer deposits, etc.

If you're switching both to room-only reservations, it may be a different bag. I think I've read people write that package reservations can't be converted to RO reservations. If that's the case, I would still handle things the same for CR (booking CR online), but you would probably end up wanting to call and cancel the original BW package reservation/make the new BW RO reservation and do a transfer of the original deposit. I haven't done packages, so I don't know. Someone else can chime in!

Otherwise-- if you make two new reservations and cancel the old one--you end up putting up 2 additional deposits while waiting for the one to come back, and that could add up $-wise.

It helps if you can multi-task, i.e. working the online system while on the phone to Call Center! Good luck.

No BWI will be the package 8 day PH, with DDP... but room only discount will be significantly more than S/P/D.. so just want to apply that discount to that part of reservation.

CR will be RO... so I think I will just book that online if available, (if not will either stay BWI the whole trip so no split stay, or switch to an available resort with RO discout... thinking WL!)

I am SO excited for Tuesday I can't stand it.

Are you willing to switch and do CR first? CR seems to be booking up faster on discounts so having flexibility on those dates might really help you. Just something to ponder....

Really don't want to switch to CR first because according to crowd calendar those would be the worst days for MK. But would consider switching to WL if need be.... Or even the cabins at FW come on Tuesday!!!

I currently have WL courtyard 10nites 4adults, ddp for $8995..yikes!!!
I am throwing back and forth spd for that, or a room only poly. Poly is my dream! If any poly is left of course. The wondering of the #s is driving me nuts as to what poly will be for last week of feb.
So impatient here

Would love Poly as well... but the construction has me worried. Wouldn't mind if some was going on around the resort... but the pool possibly being out of order was a deal breaker for me. Maybe next trip. Hope you get what you want!
