Prepaid gratuities: yay or nay?

We never prepay. I don't find it easier or harder to budget if it's prepaid. We just set aside that amount beforehand. Although it's not huge amount, I see no reason to give money to a vendor before I have to and let them earn interest even if it's a miniscule amount. IMO it's my money until they've earned it.
