Hi everyone.

Ok, so I have been looking into prepaid cards, both at the stores around me and online. I think they are a great idea for doing offers, and have basically decided that I am not doing any more trial offers until I get one. Here are my questions for those of you who use them...

1. It seems like the fees really vary. What are the fees on the cards you all use. From what I can tell, it seems as if I will have to spend minimally $9.95 to get or activate a card, then pay either monthly fees or transaction fees. Wondering if this makes it worthwhile?

2. Do all prepaid cards require a SSN to activate?

3. What prepaid card are you using, and why did you choose that one. Also did you purchase online or at a local store?

I know there has been a lot of talk here about these cards lately, but I'm really trying to piece it all together in one place. Thanks!!

The prepaid Visa, Master Cards and AMEX in Brooks drug store were 3.95 to activate. I think they just do it at the register, no questions asked, but I can't say that for sure. I don't like cards that charge you a monthly fee for no activity, I don't think AMEX does that. Maybe if you go to the AMEX site you can find out.

Someone on this board mentioned the simon mall visa gift card. It's pretty much a virtual c.c., or you can choose to have them send you a reg visa prepaid. I used the virtual one on my offers for CD. And it worked. Great, I cant wait to get another to be honest. :woohoo: It only cost $2 for fees. Aside from that. it's really cool. So thanks who ever mentioned it. :thumbsup2

try mibank.com $3 charge, and $1 fee if you don't use it every 6 months. You're name gets put on it. You can also do a cash advance on it, for $1.50 if you want the money off of it.
