Premium vs. preferred...

My husband and I are currently debating this.

Right now, there is a discount included for campers in the current "save at least 25%" promo they have going.

We had already made and paid for our reservations for late May/early June but my parents are now going to join us at the Fort and stay in a cabin so I was online making reservations for them and noticed the campground was included in the promo and it doesn't include the premium sites. (I believe it's just the campground sites themselves, not as a package, as it certainly didn't reduce my overall charge by $25%!) I had my husband call and ask about the promo and they credited us $204.00 back but it reduced us down from a premium site to a preferred site.

My question is: are the preferred sites really much different than the premium ones? Last time we stayed at the Fort was in 2005 and we had just a 25ft travel trailer then. We now have a 33ft 5th Wheel. Can't remember the loop we were on back then but I know it was a pain just to back in the travel trailer, let alone us backing in the 5th Wheel now.

Are we going to want to pay the extra $204 just for the convenience of a premium site? I'm also assuming since we need a pet site, it will be in loop 300?

I can't answer about the type of site... but each time I have made ressies and tried to use a promo, they are all gone. Meaning, sure we had some, but limited amount and they are all gone now.
If the money matters... take it. It is probably location that makes the difference anyway.

The preferred sites are 100 to 300. (300 pet friendly) Many are closer together but also closer to the Settlement and the Marina. Besure the CM put the size of your unit on the ressie. You will also have the sand pad in lieu of all concrete. Also how comfortable is he with backing into tight spaces since the aprons are much smaller..

Here is a link to the map showing loop locations.

We have a 35' 5th wheel as well and I prefer the premium sites for backing into. They have a larger area of concrete to back into which makes it much easier for me as I am not the world's greatest backer.

My wife prefers the premium sites because they are all concrete. She hates having the sand from pad in the other sites tracked into the trailer especially when it rains.

It is tough with the money savings but we now opted to spend the extra for premium but I am sure there are others that would not.

Well, after looking up the 300 loop on YouTube...we just called Disney back and had them put us back on a premium loop (we requested Loop 700).

Sites look way too small in the preferred for us so saving the extra money isn't really worth the pain of trying to back in the camper into a tight spot.
