Premium Views at Grand Californian

I'm preparing to book a quick stay as part of a larger trip. I'd like to have a theme park view, but the "premium view" price says only "theme park or pool" view. What are the chances of getting a theme park view? Any way to assure that? I'll want a room with 2 queens. I wish I could see rooms in DL like I can for WDW on Touring Plans!

No way to guarantee but you can call and request. I honestly hate that they made theme park and pool view 1 category now. They are not the same thing if you ask me.

The majority (~70%) of the rooms have 2 queen beds, so that should not be an issue.
There is no official count or map of room views, but there are likely more Pool than Park view rooms.

Very much agree.
Park view is my favorite, but Pool view is my least favorite.
I would rather just have Standard view (at the front of the hotel), than Pool or Courtyard.

Thanks. With theme park and pool combined, I'll probably just save my money and get a standard view. I would have splurged for the theme park, but it's a no-kids trip, so a pool view of kids is not my idea of "premium" this time around.

When I booked our stay there wasn't a premium option. It was pool view or theme park view. I spoke with the CM about which I should choose, as the theme park was a bit more. After talking with the CM I chose theme park view.

I don't know how recently they changed it--this is my first DL trip. But they've been combined for the last couple of weeks, at least. Pretty disappointing, actually.

I was originally booked under theme park view for my August stay and then it changed. The check in CM got really pissy when I asked why we had a pool view room since I specifically bought Theme Park. He said they categories changed and now it is just premium. I just said oh when I booked I was promised theme park and paid for such. He then very snotty like said I'll see what I can do. I wasn't even rude just simply was trying to get what we booked. when I booked it was still called theme park so that's what I expected.

Uh Oh. When I booked my upcoming December trip through Costco a few months ago, it said we were paying for a "theme park view". I really hope this means we are not going to end up facing a pool, especially when it cost less to face DTD which would be my second choice.

I would do what I did. Just simply say when you booked it was still separate categories and therefore you would like what you booked. Do you have your confirmation that uses the word theme park view? If so bring it just in case they get pushy.

I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I booked a premium view room via Orbitz for December. At almost $700 a night, I don't want to have a view of the pool. I decided to downgrade to a standard view and save $$$.

I do have a PDF file saved that shows Costco's definition of "premium view" now, thanks I'm hoping that noting it is for my mom's 60th birthday celebration will give them encouragement to put us in a DCA facing room and this won't even become an issue. I think every time I call and ask questions about the room I mention our special occasion because I want to try and get my mom a TON of attention during our trip

I didn't realize they combined the views like that (I can't afford to even bring up the hotels page on my browser, hehe). But it shocks me that they believe that a sweeping view of DCA is somehow equivalent to the view of flabby half-naked tourists hanging around some cement and water.

I have the same question. We are going to Disneyland Resort late may, and we will stay at the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, in a Premium View room. Someone have the list of those rooms? Because we're four, we also need a room with two Queen size beds and a balcony.
