Can anyone tell me what this is & how you go about getting vouchers for it?

Thanks!

I believe the preferred parade viewing is only offered with some tours. Not for sure though? :confused3

That might be right, I think it was mentioned as a perk with the Welcome to Disneyland tour.

I ask because I bought some Morning Madness vouchers off ebay & they also include these vouchers. The thing is, if everyone actually goes to DL that is planning to right now, I am one parade voucher short. I was hoping to be able to get one more......

Were they PS for the parade or the DCA shows? I know that WDTC gives vouchers to MTTMM and PS for the DCA shows (Alladin, Bugs Life, Muppet 3D) with their packages. This doesn't include ANY parade or fireworks seatings.

I haven't actually seen them yet. I just won, lol.

It does list vouchers for the DCA shows, the TTMM vouchers and then a list of extras (coupons & stuff) & also says this:
Five premium Preferred Parade Viewing: May be used at either the Pixar Play Parade at California Adventure -or- a Disneyland Park parade. For parade viewing location information, please visit Guest Relations at California Adventure or City Hall at Disneyland park. Voucher valid for only ONE parade viewing experience, not both parades.

That's awesome! They sound like the ones from the tours. There is a roped off area were you get to view the parade. I think it's by IASW, but that may just be the Holiday Tour spot?

We got this with the Holiday Tour. That is the prime reason we did it and will do it again. However, there were no vouchers. Our tour guide simply walked us over to our seats after we picked up hot cocoa and gingerbread mickeys. For the night parade it is infront of IASW while the day parade viewing is from the Main Train station, The seating is very limited by IASW. But when we were there last fall, there were many more seats at the train station and they were up when we left on our tour at 4:30. Maybe that is where they have the seats you have vouchers for.

I've been curious about the parade vouchers as well. I have the same variety as MyMonkies (the type that came with the package for MTTMM, Alladin, etc.). I assumed they must have come with all the trip packages for a period of time, but maybe they were a special short-term perk?

I'd love to hear from someone who actually used these to know how they work. Same as the tours or a little different? The main reason I want to know is that my DH and I have been trying to decide whether to do the Holiday tour with our DD's so they can join us with the prime parade viewing (and risk them being bored during the tour). or do the Holiday tour on the one half day we're doing the park without the DDs (and miss out on having them with us in the prime parade viewing spot).

I would suggest contacting the park to see what they say about the vouchers. These may be something that you are not able to use now....I thought preferred parade seating was only available after touring but I could be mistaken.

I had preferred parade viewing with a package a few years ago. At that time it was a small roped off area - I believe it was near Small World. There was no seating-just an area that you could stand in.

Good idea. I'll know more obviously when they come in but I'll verify when we're there that we can actually use them. Really I didn't pay anymore for the auction because they were included-but it definitely interested me. ;)

It says on the auction that all of the vouchers expire 1/31/10.

Anyway, I'll update you guys when I get them :)

I would be interested in the Holiday Tour that someone mentioned. Where can I get more info?

They will not have info posted on the website until the Halloween stuff is over. But this is what we did last year. And it seems it is the same each year. It is $59 for adults and $49 for kids. 10% AAA and Disney Visa discount.
You call Disney 30 days out and pay in full with no refunds.
They have two tour times- an afternoon and evening. We preferred the evening as the lights were on and we saw the night parade.
The tour starts at the tour desk in the front of the park. A tour guide gives you all headphones on which he talks and plays Christmas music. He holds a candle to light the way and for you to keep up with him/her. They stop at the spots on Main street and tells you stuff about traditions in the park- different candies, pastries, etc... You walk over to New Orleans Square with a few stops along the way. We even sang carols along the way! Youdon;t think about the folks around you because you have the earphones on. You get front of the line for HM. Yhis was really nice in the vening as the park was really crowded. We then took the train to TT. From there you get front of the line for IASW. You then go to the snack bar by PFF for a souviner mug of hot cocoa and gingerbread mickeys with chocolate ears. They walk you over to your reserved cushioned seats for the parade. Some of the characters in the parade play up to those in the seats. Then they give you a really cool pin. We were fortunate also and our tour guide gave us front of the line passes for any ride we wanted to ride after the tour.
We loved it so much and plan on doing it again this year.
If you do the afternoon tour the only difference if that the reserved seats are at the train station on Main Street. You are not nearly as close as you are for the evening parade by IASW.

The reason we booked this tour was that we waited an hour for the parade the year before sitting on the hard cold pavement. We saw this group of people come rushing up at the last minute with cocoa and snacks. DH asked "how did they get those seats?" When we were in those same seats, he said "we are they and I love it!!"

Hope you can do the tour and enjoy it as much as we do!!

The Welcome to Disneyland tour is much cheaper, I wonder what the parade seating is like for that one???

We got vouchers for preferred parade seating with a package we purchased from Walt Disney Travel a few years ago; it also included the TTMM and Aladdan vouchers, a backpack, a pin, luggage tags etc. It isn't actually seating, it was just a roped off area by IASW that is at the front of the parade route. We asked the CM manning the area if we could leave our stuff and come back right before the parade. The CM said that sometimes they change the parameters of the rope so there was no guarantee that our stroller would be in the same spot when we returned. My husband ended up staying and staking a spot about an hour prior to the parade so that we got a front row spot while my son and I went on FL rides. Our area was right next to the tour seating, and boy were we envious to see them rush in at the last moment, be seated in actual chairs and get hot cocoa! A few people snuck their kids in to our area and the CM asked to see their vouchers, I felt so bad for the kids. I seem to see that a lot at DL with parents pushing kids forward for shows. :sad2:

ballarinamom gave a great synopsis of the Holiday Tour, but I am pretty sure the AAA/Disney Rewards/AP discount is 20%. That's what it was last year and what VP told me it would be this year (~$47 for an adult). BTW, ballarinamom and I got to meet on the tour last year! Highly recommend it.

Can anyone tell me how long the Holiday tour lasts? And what time does the evening one start? Would you recommend it if you have the kids with? Thanks!

I think its about 2 1/2 hours. Which would be 1 pm for the 3:30 parade and 4 pm for the 6:30 parade. I have heard mixed reviews for bringing kids along. If it's busy you have to rush to keep up with the CM. And they may get board with the "tour part" talking about the xmas decor. Here's the thread...
