Finally here are our dining and recreation reviews from our honeymoon at WL 10/2-10/9. Better late than never right.

We were on the premium plan and were quite familiar with this plan since we’ve used it many times before. Actually we were more familiar with it than the CM checking us in - he kept telling us about 2 credit dining at signature restaurants. It’s a good thing we knew that it’s 1 credit regardless of where we ate or we would have thought we had to pay for some of our meals.

10/2
Lunch was at Liberty Tree Tavern. Service was great – never had to ask for a refill, but our server had a thick accent so we had trouble understanding him at times. DH had his usual of fried cheese, pot roast and chocolate liberation cake, with a soda and coffee. I had vegetable beef soup (very yummy), pilgrims feast and liberty shortcake (also super yummy) with a soda. We did not get any rolls, we figured out later that we needed to ask for some. Also with dessert, our server brought out a celebration cupcake for us.
Total with tip $66.60

Dinner was at the Hoop Dee Doo. We were seated in the front row but all the way on the right. DH had a little bit of a hard time seeing stuff on the right side of the stage but all together it wasn’t a bad view. The sweet butter they serve with the bread is our favorite. I also really like their ribs – I’m not a big ribs eater at home but these are just the way I like them.
Total with tip was approx $105 (however, our dining plan was never charged so we had 2 extra credits to use)

While not covered by the premium plan, DH ordered chocolate covered strawberries and hot chocolate from room service for me since it was our honeymoon. I think this will have to be a new tradition. There were 6 large berries dipped tuxedo style on a plate of chocolate shavings.
Total out of pocket $45

10/3
Breakfast at Chef Mickeys. DH and I really love eating here b/c there is so much variety and they have the yummy McDonald’s style hash browns. We also got a celebration cupcake here. Character interaction was pretty good. We saw Goofy in the lobby area and Mickey came to our table right after we were seated. Minnie kind of rushed by before the celebration song and we thought she would be back but we were wrong – no big deal. We also saw Dale. Pluto and Chip were nearby but we didn’t want to wait for them even though I’m sure it wouldn’t have been more than 15 min more.
Total with tip $43.72

Lunch at Rose and Crown Pub. Service was okay but the restaurant was full so things moved a little slower than usual. Again no problems getting refills even before we were completely finished with our drinks. DH had the cheese and fruit plate (really just picked at it though), fish and chips (the real reason we eat here), sticky toffee and soda and coffee. Our server told us that coffee wasn’t included since we already had a beverage but DH wanted it anyway and she didn’t end up charging us for it. I had potato and leek soup (very good), cottage pie (a bit too peppery for my taste and a huge portion), warm apple crumble and soda.
Total with tip $68.44

Dinner at Le Cellier. Our server Elaine was great, very personable and talkative. I did notice that the servers did not bring out the food though. I guess the runners were the only ones who took care of that. Elaine did check in on us and get us refills, etc. DH had the beef barley soup, 7oz filet (very very good), sorbet, coffee and soda. I had the beef barley soup, prime rib (perfectly tender), kids smores dessert, soda and hot tea. The only complaint we had was that dessert took forever to come out. It was right around Illuminations time so I think they may have held it thinking we wanted to go out and view it. Elaine did say something and it came out soon afterwards. We also got a magical moments certificate but I think she picked up the wrong envelope since it had some other last name inside it (wasn’t her handwriting so I’m guessing the hostess made them up and just gave her the wrong one).
Total with tip $94.42

10/4
Breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This place is always a lot of fun, even though we were so groggy and tired. They made us stand up and kiss for everyone. We both had the skillet which was good but not great. I think we’ll stick to buffet breakfasts from now on.
Total with tip $35.91

Lunch at Crystal Palace. This was our first time here for lunch and we weren’t disappointed. Great variety of foods and DH was happy there was meat and potatoes. We saw everyone but Eeyore who had gone by right as we were getting seated. It didn’t bother me, I go there to see Pooh and as long as I’ve seen him we are free to leave.
Total with tip $48.58

Dinner at California Grill. We got the window seat we had requested. It was near where the lounge area meets the dining room and offered the perfect view of the Magic Kingdom. Our server Steven was wonderful. He was very helpful with adjusting items on the menu to DH’s tastes (he’s not in to fancy food). DH had plain cheese flatbread, filet with sauce on the side and no beans, PBJ lava cake (surprisingly good), drink from the bar and soda. I had steak sushi (this was a real treat since I don’t like regular sushi but love steak), filet with no sauce, PBJ lava cake, drink from the bar and soda. DH also ordered us a bottle of wine for dessert and the fireworks. I can’t get over the view – it seemed like the fireworks were just for me. This is why we are staying at CR with MK view in Feb. An 18% tip was added to the drink bill which gave him a really nice tip but DH added even more b/c Steven was so great, helping us order, select a wine, and timing the meal.
Total with tip (food bill) $136.08

10/5
We slept through our planned breakfast at WCC. Once we got to MGM and rode a couple rides DH was hungry. We went to ABC Commissary and got a kids meal chicken nuggets w/fruit (maybe fries too?) and soda.
Total approx $6

Lunch was at 50’s Prime Time Café. The only restriction here was that a milkshake counted as dessert since it was listed in the dessert section of the menu (only once in about 6 trips was a able to get a milkshake here for a beverage so it wasn’t a problem but it doesn’t hurt to ask). DH had chicken noodle soup, pot roast (like LTT better), Dad’s Sundae (huge but so yummy) and soda. I had onion rings, pot roast, smores and a soda.

Dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. This used to be one of our favorites but the menu keeps changing and we just weren’t as impressed with the food this time. DH had the kids chicken noodle soup (none of the adult appetizers interested him), porterhouse (not impressed with it), happiest celebration cake (just okay) and soda. I had tomato mozzarella stack (my favorite), angus cowboy ribeye (was just okay, should have gotten prime rib), creme brule (good but so sad there was no more white choc macadamia nut pie). DH again ordered a bottle of wine for us to share and our server brought out a plate of cookies in celebration of our honeymoon. Here the wine bill did not have a tip added at all so DH gave him something nice for his extra attentiveness. Again a heavy accent made it difficult for us to understand everything he said but he was a good server.
Total with tip (food only) $149.91

10/6
Breakfast at Crystal Palace. This is my favorite breakfast b/c I get to see Pooh and the food selection is pretty good. Again we missed Eeyore but we wanted to get out into the park right at opening.
Total with tip $43.72

Lunch at LTT again. This time we asked for bread and it was yummy. DH had (again) fried cheese, pot roast, choc liberation cake and soda. I had beef veg soup, bacon cheeseburger, pound cake (very good) and soda.
Total with tip $59

Dinner was supposed to be Cali Grill again but we were tired and needed a nap. Instead we ate at Cosmic Ray’s during MNSSHP and got to see Stitch’s dance party. We both got double bacon cheeseburgers w/fries, soda, and choc cake. It wasn’t too bad for counter service.
Total $25

At this point I stopped writing down where/what we ate so I’ll try to reconstruct
10/7
Breakfast was counter service at CR before our morning jet ski tour. We both had egg sandwiches, a muffin and drink.
Total approx $20

Lunch at Typhoon Lagoon. I really can’t remember which place we ate – maybe leaning palms? DH had dbl? bacon cheese burger, fries, soda and ice cream bar. I had chicken wrap, fries, soda, and frozen banana. I like that we got tokens to use to come back and get our dessert after we finished eating (or later in the day). This place was very accommodating to the dining plan. They were letting kids get whatever meal they wanted (not just the kids meals), I guess since there wasn’t much variety in the kids meals.
Total approx $25

Dinner at WCC – again we had Yachtsman scheduled but were too tired to trek over to YC. DH had the skillet and Banana dustbowl –something relatively elaborate. I had chicken soup (actually I ate the salad that came with his skillet and he ate the soup), steak, and apple dessert. We were seated all the way in the back, in that area that is kind of out in the back of the lobby. It was really quiet back here – actually the 2 other tables were anniversary couples. Food was fine, we just wanted a simple meal that was close to our room.
Total with tip approx $80

I think we had choc covered strawberries again this night (or maybe it was our last night Sat). We got 8 instead of 6 since they were a bit smaller but I couldn’t eat them all. We also had champagne that our travel agent had sent to us.

10/8
Breakfast at Ohana. This is the first time we’d eaten here and really liked it, especially now that Stitch is there. Our server Grace said to be sure to come back and see her and bring the kids (if we ever have any). I think we’ll ask if she’s there when we go for breakfast in Feb.
Total with tip $43.78

Lunch at Tony’s Town Square. The last and only time I ate here was back when it still served breakfast. I don’t think we’ll be returning. The food and service were not impressive. We basically ran out of ideas of where to eat lunch in MK – we should have opted for the castle but didn’t think of that until afterwards. DH had breadstick, spaghetti and meatballs soda and coffee. I had minestrone soup, spaghetti and meatballs and soda. The soup was good but the pasta was nothing special at all. The dessert platter was shared but neither of us really liked anything on it. We did get a celebration dessert (ice cream? I think) which we did enjoy. This was the only other place that balked at DH getting coffee with dessert. We said we’d pay for it anyway after she said it wasn’t included. Again she didn’t charge us for it anyway.
Total with tip $73.05

DH was hungry that afternoon so we used a meal credit for food at Roaring Forks. DH got chicken fingers w/fries, milk and salad for me as his dessert. They were pretty lenient here with the plan.
Total approx $12

Dinner was Hoop Dee Doo again. This time seemed better, even though the cast seemed to have some newer/less experience members. We were seating exactly opposite where we were the first time, last table for 2 up front on the left side (actually it is set back a bit farther than on the right side).
Total with tip approx $105

10/9
Breakfast at CP. We had the same server as our lunch earlier in the week. Food was good as usual but we missed Eeyore yet again. It just wasn’t meant to be but 3 meals with Pooh was wonderful.
Total $43.72

Lunch at LLT once again. We had the same server as our Thursday lunch. I don’t remember what we ordered (maybe turkey for both of us with soup and fried cheese). The bread was undercooked so we didn’t eat any and we both weren’t in the mood for dessert (we were sad it was our last day). I don’t have the totals for this meal but I’ll see what I can come up with.

Recreation - will add in later.

Notes – apparently not many people on the premium package eat at counter service eateries (I can understand why since it’s not much value for what you paid). We had to instruct them on how to ring up our meals – you can’t push the ‘CS” meal button since we don’t have any counter service meals to deduct from, have to use the “premium” button and enter in how many meals.

great reviews. aren't those little happy wedding! extras great?!?!?! we were there for our wedding/honeymoon too, and got sooooo spoiled with the extra attention. we felt like we owned the place. glad that you got to eat the filet at the cali grill. that's the beast meal on property!!!

Thanks for all of the dining details...I really enjoyed your review. I'm glad you had a nice time and Congratulations on your marriage!!!

Thanks for the reviews, we are planning on eating at several of the resturaunts you tried and I love to hear anything about them.

Congratulations! Thank you for your dining report. We're going on the Premium Plan soon and I wondered how it would work out. Can't hardly wait! :Pinkbounc

DH & I returned home on 11/14 from WDW and we also are big fans of the premium plan, being golfers it makes sense for us. Just a opposite opinion on Yachtsman's Steak House- while I was upset about no oysters for appetizers(always my favorite) I thought the food was great- I ordered diver scallops and the cowboy rib eye and I thought it was the best-too big but great!! We also did, Cali Grill, Citricos,Artist Point, Narcoosee's and Fultons (Stone Crab- Yum!!!). We have spent our last 15 out of 23 anniversaries at WDW and I wish you and your hubby as much happiness there as we have had and continue to have! :flower:

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for reading everyone. I'm glad you've enjoyed hearing about our meals.

Congrats on your marriage ... glad to hear you had a great time.

Curious though, did you end up telling the waitstaff at these restaurants that it was your honeymoon? How else would they know?

Also, some of your food bills seemed a bit steep ..eg- $150 for 2 people. Did you order alot of extras with your meals ..?

Thanks !

Diz - thx, we did have a wonderful time. Our honeymoon was noted on our dining reservations (they made the note when we called to make ADRs).
All the meals were appetizer, entree, dessert and non alcholic beverage plus tax and 15% tip (that is what is included in the premium package). At the more expensive places an appetizer was about $10, entree $40 and dessert $7 per person. Not hard to rack up a bill well over $100 that way. When 4 of us went to the yachtsman in 04 we spent about $350 without any alcohol.

You report brings back memories of our honeymmon at the GF 15 years ago on the Gold Key Plan. That was their all inclusive dining /recreation plan at the time. It seemed like all we did was go from restaurant to restaurant to eat!!! We were lucky if we had a few hours in the parks between all those meals. Great food though.

Nice report and congrats on your wedding. I used the premium plan to in september and it was nice. I see you ordered Dads Pot roast at 50 PCT . I know its huge because i had that for dinner there to. :sunny:

I was thinking the same thing. It brings back memories of our honeymoon almost 10 yrs. ago at the GF with the "Grand Plan". Boy was it GRAND!!

Thanks for the reviews and Congratulations to you both.

Thanks for sharing your reviews and congrats on your marriage. Wishing you many more happy WDW vacations. :flower:

It was great reading your report. I was wondering how much you figure you paid on the package for your meals? Do you think it was worth it? I am not going for quite awhile yet and I am sure things will change but we never thought that the package would be worth it.....so what are your thoughts??

Thanks for you reviews, we are staying at WL next month and eating at a lot of the same places! Congrats on your wedding.
Laura

Great report. Can't wait for your recreation report since DH and I will be using this plan in May and am looking for some ideas on how to use the recreation part of the package.
