Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

I guess I was looking for a review, rather than answers to specific questions. I'm nervous, yet excited to add on this extra day and do the things I've always wanted to do.

My tentative schedule...

I'm getting to Orlando on 12/09, staying at CBR pirate room, room only

12/10-12/13 CBR pirate room (2) visiting with Mom and sisters
12/10 Disapalooza with private party at Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
12/11 Podcast taping and MVMCP
12/12 HS with Osbourne Lights

12/12---start of my solo time and Plantinum Package! Staying at WL
Check in early
Backstage Magic Tour
Victoria and Alberts
Fireworks cruise (maybe)

12/13 Dolphins in Depth
Aqua Seas Tour
Spa treatment at Sturdy Branches (room service lunch?)
La Nouba
Dinner at Jiko
2nd night at WL with room only discount

12/14 head home :(

Would love to hear any advice on my plan!

We are seriously considering a one night Platinum plan during our 8 night stay in July. We'll do it in the middle, but I have a question. We are vacationing from June 30 - July 8 and I would love to do the Platinum package either July3 - 4 or July 4 - 5. My question is that I'm not sure if the package is available on a holiday and if the activities available are offered. I'd just love to be out of the parks on those days! Does anyone know from experience?

Also, I'm having a tough time wrapping my head around how to book the stay. Let's just say that we do the package on July 3 - 4 as a base.

June 30 - July 3....Reservation 1
July 3 - 4.............Reservation 2
July 4-8...............Reservation 3

Now, I will have two rooms. We are staying WL club rooms. And, I am considering the purchase of one AP to get the TIW card and any potential discounts that may come up. The other four people in my family will need Park hoppers, water& more, etc.

My question is I have no idea how to book these room with three reservations with the AP. I would want to (if it worked out) be able to keep the five one day passes required for the package to use for a later trip.

Am I making any sense?:rolleyes1

Just booked.

Arrive Saturday 9/11 - Polynesian Resort Military Discount Rate 9/11 - 9/14

Switch to one day Platinum Package 9/14 - 9/15.

Switch back to Military Discount Room Rate 9/15 - 9/17.

Now I just have to figure out how to schedule La Nouba & Illuminations Cruise & (2) Dinners at Signature Restautants on the 14th & 15th.

Ideas anyone?

I think your plan is looking pretty good - after all it is very similar to mine!
My question is do you have a car to get around? Esp on Day 2 when you are moving from WL - Epcot - WL - DTD - AKL and on Disney transport that is a lot of time, but in a car is easy.
Good plan! enjoy! :goodvibes

Hey joedog.
will you have a car? Cause then you could easily take advantage of the early sitting at V&A and drive to 9pm La Nouba (or vice versa on the timing). If doing Illuminations cruise, would you perhaps go to Yachtsmans or Flying Fish for dinner?

Our platinum evenings look like:
Monday:
5 PM - Dinner at V & A
8:30 PM - Illuminations Cruise (it's a little later at Christmas time, on Sept, IIRC, you'd need to be at the dock 30 mins earlier)

Tuesday:
6 PM - Cirque
8:30 PM - Dinner at Cali Grill (Wishes at 9:30, I think)

We won't have a car, but we are budgeting for a taxi for our evenings.

Sounds like Premium and Platinum will be available for 2012 . . . but did anyone notice another thread/poster said that in speaking with a CM regarding the 2012 Premium/Platinum that it would require a 3-night minimum? That unfortunately could likely be the end of it for me :( . . .

Here is the link for the 2012 Platinum, which looks identical to the 2011 package:

Yes, I talked to her tonight and I'm hoping she had the wrong info. She told me both premium and platinum would be a three night minimum. That might be too much for me too!

Yes, I plan on renting a car. My mom hates the buses, so it's easier than hearing her complain the entire trip! :thumbsup2

I have a short time to get organized with this. Could someone post a fast track to links for me? I appreciate your help so much!!! This entire thread will be a must read but I didn't know about be able to do this until just now!! I need to get going fast and need major advice and tips. Can you get to fantasmic seating in time from the 5:00 candlelight???

I do think the 3-night minimum might be true (but say it isn't so!!!) . . . because I went online and tried to book a Platinum for one night, and it said "We did not find any rooms available for the dates you specified" . . . however, when I changed it to a 3-night stay, it would book it. A 3-day January 2012 stay at Wilderness Lodge (least expensive of the Deluxe), Platinum Plan for 2 adults (and only a one-day ticket) cost is $2511.72. Ouch!!! I'm glad I got to enjoy the ride for a few Premium and Platinum stays while I could, because I think that unless I can get to WDW by the end of 2011 for a final one-nighter, this is the end of the P/P road for me. Too bad, so sad!

My husband and I are staying offsite for a convention Sunday - Thursday. Between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, we will move to the Contemporary Resort. Never stayed at Contemporary before but we've always wanted to, so we are very excited about this. Here's our plans:

Friday, July 01, 2011
8:30 AM Keys to the Kingdom Tour
2:00 PM Disney's Grand Floridian Spa & Health Club - massage for both of us
5:30 PM Victoria and Albert's
10:00 PM Platinum Plan Wishes Cruise

Saturday, July 02, 2011
8:30 AM Wilderness Back Trail Degway Adventure Tour
12:00 PM Grand Floridian Cafe (I think we'll split lunch since CG is at 5:30 and use the other credit for room service breakfast today.)
1:30 PM Sammy Duvall's Water Sports - Parasailing 1:30PM, waterskiing 2PM and jet-skiing 3PM
5:30 PM California Grill
9:00 PM Cirque Du Soleil - Package

I think we've left enough room in between to get to where we need to be and maybe get a little pool time. Except for Cirque du Soleil, everything I chose to do is in the Magic Kingdom area so as to minimize travel time. I think next time we do this, we'll stay at Beach Club and do Epcot tours and Illuminations Cruise and that sort of thing.

We've never eaten at V&A's or Californinia Grill, so I'm really excited about those. Concierge was very helpful and responded quickly and got us everything we wanted at the time we wanted.

I'm kinds of rethinking the Wishes fireworks cruise. Maybe we just want to eat at V&A, go back to Contemporary and change clothes, then go to MK for EMH. I haven't seen the Electrical parade and wouldn't mind doing a couple rides. What do you all think? Is the fireworks cruise nice? Is it worth doing or would you rather be in the MK?

The only other thing I need to figure out is how to get to Fort Wilderness from Contemporary on Saturday morning. Any ideas as to the quickest method?

The three night minimum is true. According to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/vacation-packages/2012/platinum/
A 3-night minimum length of stay is required when purchasing the 2012 Magic Your Way Platinum Package.
Serious bummer as we had been planning on doing this in early January. Seriously makes it harder to make it an outstanding deal.

Thank goodness we still have July!!!! Now what will we do NEXT year?

That really sucks about the premium and platinum plan being a 3 day minimum. Guess Disney finally found that too many people were utilizing it for 1 night and they were probably losing money on the deal.

Question for those of you who did the KTTK tour: what kind of food was included in lunch? Was a soft drink included? how about dessert?

Well, at least we can plan to do the Wild Africa Trek and dine with an Imagineer, since we won't be spending the $ on Premium / Platinum!

(it is too late to add a Premium stay to our July getaway so we can say goodbye to the two plans in style??? - heehee)

I totally agree, it really does suck. All good things . . .

I remember that on KTTK we were given a choice of several sandwiches (I got the tuna, which was very good) at the Columbia Harbour House, and chips and beverage were included. No dessert was served when I took the tour.

KTTK included entree and drink, no dessert. You could choose from about 8 possible entree options (the main offerings at Columbia Harbour House in general it seemed like, so sandwich or fried seafood basket with chips or french fries) and a drink in a cup (i.e. you could get a soft drink, water, apple juice, etc, but it was served in a cup not a bottle). For us, we stopped early enough in the day that it seemed like a good amount of food for the tummy at that moment (i.e. it was too early at 11am for a giant lunch), BUT we were definitely hungry later in the day. Did NOT make it till our 7pm HDDR, had to get two separate snacks that day (one in desperation from a gift shop since we were starving) to tide us over till dinner.

Hope that helps!
