We will not have a car, so plan is to take a cab to from OKW to Premium Outlets and do some shopping, head over to get some basics from Publix, get cab back to OKW. Question is, is it possible/practical to walk between the two or will we have to get a cab from Premium to Publix?

thanks Wayne wasn't sure if there were any walkways, or whether it was just roads and freeway...any idea?

I have not walked it but driven across many times. If you zoom in you can see paths all the way I believe.

Pity you aren't going in October. We could have shared a cab. Hard to tell if there are walkways, but I guess if you ask at the PO they will be able to tell you (although people look at you like you're nuts there when you suggest walking anywhere :rotfl:)

we crossed over to the other side of the road to go to Mc Donalds and whilst there is pavements, actually crossing the road was like dicing with death :) just needed a bit more attention

Taxi for me! There is also the little challenge of making sure that you keep your wits about you with traffic approaching from opposite directions to what we are used to. So the Look Left .... gets flipped backwards. ;)

You can walk. I must've walked it about 5 times a week when I lived there. It's very easy, about a 5 min walk between the two, plenty of walkways, and just one road to cross. I wouldn't get a taxi, you'd literally be in it for a minute and back out again.

Will give walking a go hogwartsdropout

Wayne if I don't make Tutto Italia then I may be missing in action and it might be worth checking Google Earth to see if there are any new splats on the road ;)

It's hard to tell from the map (I'm not very good with maps :rotfl:) but it's the road I am worried about. I like to cross with traffic lights. :)

Oh please don't say things like that! :scared1:

I have another plan, as it will be our first shopping trip of the hols we might have much to carry, I could sit at the Mall and look after all the shopping and send the girls over to do the food shopping..."It's only a short walk dear, Publix is just over the road, I will wait here will all these heavy bags" :)

Looks like there's a crossing over Vineland further north at Regency Village drive - so while not the most convenient place does save taking your life in your hands crossing the carriage way.

As an aside, I didn't even realise after all this time that there was even a Publix back there, LOL.

The paths look clear to me maybe I am seeing something thats not there?:confused3 They run along Vineland with crossings across the entrances/exits but no crossing across Vineland. Should be easy.
Maybe you can see them clearer on Bing http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nqy1z4868c9t&scene=55130017&lvl=2&sty=b

Don't turn up late to Tutto Italia, I will be panicing now. :rotfl2:

That is much clearer, thanks. Hmmm, still not sure. TBH it is probably because I have a child with me. I am slightly more brazen on my own. Do you know how big this particular Publix is and what their range is like and whether they have a little section of non food items or nik naks? I don't actually need any food with the Dining Plan, but would really like go go and pick out some of my old childhood favorites for old time sake.

Going to check that out now, thank you. I would much rather do a detour and know we are safe.

MMmmmmm Cheeeeeeetos :worship::worship::worship:!

Funny thing is I remember loving them as a child and the first time I tasted them again they weren't exactly what I remembered (you know how sometimes you grow up just a wee bit :rotfl:), yet I absolutely have to have them!

You know you can get there and back for $4, catch the 50 lynx bus across road from DTD for $2, ask for a transfer and then get off at seaworld and ask where to catch bus for premium,(its the stop across the road) use your transfer ticket, when you are ready to come back its all in reverse, and its really easy to cross the road its not that busy.

How long does that take? It sounds like quite a round about route, although if you have the time and want to save the money it's also sounds unbeatable.
