Has anyone done the premium dining plan? Do you think it is worth it? I am traveling alone and I really like signature restaurants so I am wondering if it worth it considering all the other benefits you get. You can eat at a signature restarant every night, correct?Do they have any limitations on where you eat your breakfast and lunch? Could I eat breakfast at Kona Cafe and lunch at LeCellier or do they make you eat CS for some meals. How exactly do they keep tracked of your meal credits? Is it like the DDP and you have a certain amount of credits. Could I use a dinner credit at a signature on checkout day if I hadn't used it one night that I decide to pay OOP for a lower cost meal? I really appreciate any information you can give me!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!:)

I'm assuming you mean the magic your way package with premium dining?

You can eat at a signature restarant every night, correct?

You could if you had enough credits in this package you recieve:

3 meal credits per night of your stay, so lets say you're staying 7 nights...you will recieve 21 meal credits ..They are yours to spend as you see fit througought your vacation, but when they are gone they are gone. The 3 meal credits can be either counter service (1 credit each) table service (1 credit each) or signature resturaunts (2 credits each)

Do they have any limitations on where you eat your breakfast and lunch?

The resturants that accept the plan (for breakfast lunch AND dinner) can be found in the 2008 dining plan brochure available at Disney's website. Here's teh link:
http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/m...agespecific/eng/nontheme/tickets/08Dining.pdf

Could I eat breakfast at Kona Cafe and lunch at LeCellier or do they make you eat CS for some meals.

You sure could, you can spend your 3 meal credits (and 2 snack credits by the way) any way you choose, so you could do 3 cs a day, 3 ts per day, 3 signature a day, or any combination, but when your credits are gone, they are gone so you must choose how you want to spend them!

How exactly do they keep tracked of your meal credits?

You are given a room key, at the end of your meal, you give them your key and you get a receipt with how many credits you have left!

Is it like the DDP and you have a certain amount of credits.
Yes it IS a version of the ddp.

Could I use a dinner credit at a signature on checkout day if I hadn't used it one night that I decide to pay OOP for a lower cost meal?
Yes you could, credits expire at midnight on the day you check out.
I really appreciate any information you can give me!!!!!

Thanks for the great information. I did find the information on the WDW website for the 2007 plan after I posted. I was also wondering if people thought it was a good deal. If I am understanding correctly if I am staying 3 nights,I should get 9 credits. Do you need to use the credits for B,L,D or can I save a couple of Breakfast credits (not a big breakfast eater) to use on checkout day for L,D? The way they show a 3 night stay on the WDW site, you get a credit for dinner on checkin day,3 meals the next 2 days and B, and L on checkout day. Do they really monitor what meals you are eating or just meal credits? Also I was told by the CM when I called with questions that I could eat at Signature restaurants every night if I wanted. When I look at the info on the premium plan the signature restaurant logo is not listed on the restaurant pages like it is on the DDP restaurant list so I didn't think that it mattered if it was a 2 ts.However, I would gladly give up breakfast every day to eat at a signature restaurant everyday.Did you do Cirq du soleil? If so do you actually wait until you arrive to get a ticket?
Thanks again!!!!:)

We did the Premium Plan in Dec 2005. You are allowed 3 sit down meals per day. That's it. You can eat anywhere you like (except Victoria & Alberts). The plan includes recreation, tours, Cirque. It is great. Easy with no hassles. If you are looking for convenience, it is a really good plan. We enjoyed our trip very much using it.

This is great information if we do end up going next year I think we will do the DDP premium version or the plantium version

There is a Disney Dining Plan and a Deluxe Disney Dining Plan. There is also a Premium Package and a Platinum Package. The Premium and Platinum package include way more than dining.

Are you using the right term in regards to what you are looking for?

Here is information on the different options taken from the 2008 DDP FAQ thread stuck to the top of this board.

Click here for information on the 2008 Magic Your Way Packages with the Disney Dining Plan. (This link opens a page on Dreams Unlimited's website. Dreams Unlimited is a site sponsor.)

Note that the Disney Dining Plan is one of four package plans Disney offers that includes dining. The others include:
Deluxe Disney Dining Plan
Premium Plan
Platinum Plan

And a new Wine plan:
Disney Wine and Dine Plan

Hope that helps

The difference between the Premium plan and the Deluxe or regular dining plan is that there is no differentiation of the signature restaurants - all restaurants are 1 point. So if you want to eat a sit down meal 3 times a day you can on the Premium plan with no worries at all - so Kona, Le Cellier, and CA Grill is just fine:) There will be a place at the bottom of your receipt that keeps track of your credits - you get 3 credits per night and you can split it up however you want. With the Premium plan you also get recreation, tours (except the ones at the Living Seas), and Cirque tickets. You can make your reservations for Cirque in advance, but you have to pick up your tickets at the window at Cirque once you're in FL. It's a great plan, I enjoyed it. amd we definitely got our $'s worth:) We did eat quite a bit however - lots of character breakfasts, sit down lunches, and signature rest. for dinner. We also did a few tours, went parasailing, and used the other package components. So if you just want to try the dining end of it, and are willing to forgo breakfast for dinner at the signature places and are going in '08, you might want to look into the Deluxe plan - it's a little cheaper and you'd still get your dining fix. HTH:)

What do you all think of the basic Dining Plan-good buy for family w/ small children? It is one counter meal, one snack and one 'sit down' meal per day. We have two rooms, can you combine cards?

Oh sure, if you want to be treated like a VIP. You'll get the best service and entree. However, these all come with a price.

The Premium plan doesn't make sense if all you want to use it for is the meals. If if you seek out the most expensive meals, it's going to be hard (but not impossible I guess) to eat $150/day in food.

The real value in the plan is the recreation. Take advanate of the golf, parasailing, etc. and the plan ends up being a bargain.

I just got back yesterday and we did the premium plan and it was great you could eat any where, but the best thing was the room service. And you do not want to miss Cirque.

Dh and I did it last year and loved it. 3 meals a day with no worries about TS being 1 or 2 credits. Every restaurant/character meal/show is 1 credit. And the credits are good until midnight the day you check out. We didn't pay OOP for any meals, just for snacks. We ate so good.

Plus we love cirque. It's a great show. The only think I wish we would have done is the park tours. We just couldn't fit it all in.

Thanks for all the great responses!!!!I think I will just stick with the DDP. I really enjoy signature restaurants but it would be cheaper for me to pay OOP for a couple of cheaper meals because the premium plan is almost $400.00 more for 3 nights.I already have a ticket for Cirq Du Soliel. Although I wouldn't mind seeing it twice, I think the show is phenomonal!!!!!If I were going in 2008 I would definetely do the deluxe plan. I wish they offered it this year. Thanks again for all the advice!!!!!!:)
