premium dining package

I'm thinking of booking the premium dining/magic your way package. My husband is a golfer, and I want to see La Nouba so I figured we'd get our money's worth with this option. We had deluxe dining on our last trip in 2010 and felt it was worth it.
Any thoughts? Is it too much?
Are there any advantages or disadvantages to this package?

The only disadvantage is the price. Especially now that I believe it's a 3-night minimum.
And it has less advantages than before -- since more restaurants have been added to the basic ddp, which previously were only on the premium plan. In terms of dining, it's now very very similar to the DxDP. (in theory, you can get more total meals on the premium, you could do 3 2-credit meals per day on the premium, but not deluxe. But not sure that's really an issue for many people).

So I'd just very carefully price out the premium add ons -- how much golf is he going to play, the price of the tickets, and see whether it saves any money.

Note that the premium and platinum packages aren't Disney dining plans per se, but special all-inclusive resoirt packages that happen to have a dining component.

To pile on on the price issue, I believe the rules were changed to require a minimum 3 night MYW package stay, and it has never been available for DVC points stays or as part of an annual passholder ticketless package.

It may still be a good deal, if you're really planning on having a "resort" trip more so than a "parks" trip (unless you want to do several park tours, I suppose). Do the math to be sure, though, because it's a pretty big expense.
