its nowhere near as good as Virgin Premium Economy (especially upstairs) which is its competitor and the same price. We were very disppointed with WTP on BA and wont fly it again. Felt just the same as economy for much more money! Virgin gives you heaps of extras with its PE class over economy ...

Pluses of BA over Virgin ... to me the BA staff are better and more professional

Pluses of Virgin PE over BA WTP ..... much better seats, miles more space if you book upstairs, dedicated cabin crew (BA does not give this) which means they look after just the PE section not economy as well, priority security fastpass (again BA do not), dedicated PE check-in (BA do not),

theres miles more things to mention where VA are better than BA with this class. My opinion ..... dont even bother with BA, go VA PE.

We travelled in BA World Traveller + when BA Holidays did an offer of free upgrade one way and we then paid £150 for upgrade the other way. Have also had the pleasure of travelling VA Premium a few times too.

As other poster said BA WT+ is not as good, but for us £150 was worth it to have more room. I would compare it to the charter premium upgrades, but not a patch on VA upstairs pemium.

It is in a small cabin so it is nice and private and quiet, but if same price as VA Premium then I would go for VA.

If it was a choice of Economy then I would choose BA as their seats are more comfortable in Economy and staff are better in my opinion.

I have travelled in both many times and whilst I agree that upstairs with Virgin is a nice option, the thing I really dislike about Virgin is its punctuality record - about which much has been posted here.

I've had very few Virgin on-time flights but all of BA's have been. I go to the USA three or four times a year so these have not been isolated incidents.

Depends what matters to you. For me, the thought of yet another delay waiting for a Virgin flight has tipped the balance - going back to BA.

It's not worth the money, nice if you get a free upgrade.

The food is the same as economy.
The entertainment is the same as economy.

Short of a few more inches either side of you, it's all the same. If you can get it for a free or nominal amount, go for it. Otherwise, personally, unless you're 6'+ or over 200lb, I'd stick with cattle class.

I would also agree with what other posters have said about BA PE. We have been lucky enough to fly Club which is superb imho. However, flying with 2 children now, this is just too much cash so we have since tried PE, but it's just not worth the extra money. I would sooner fly economy because it's just no different, and put the money saved to a Club class flight next year.

I am really surprised BA don't take the feedback on this seriously and change the way PE operates - even if it were to offer pre-bookable seats and dedicated check in - simple and cheap improvements. All you are getting for double your money is a smaller cabin (but share cabin staff with economy) and a bit more legroom. Good luck with your choice :goodvibes

Last time I flew PE, there was only one functional toilet in economy, so half of economy were invited to use the one functional toilet in PE.

200 people in total.
2 bathrooms.
You can imagine the lines.
If I'd paid extra for PE, I'd have been seriously P.O'd
I was pretty P.O'd as it was! :headache:

Have not travelled Virgin PE, but have BA PE twice, first time was a good price, but not the second, and unless you can get the front row, its really not worth the extra cash. my pal at work always flys Virgin PE and raves about it, the best was this years flight to Charlotte with US airways, a $500 PP Upgrade to Envoy, 70 inches of leg room !! and they didn't charged us for our dd (4).
