We currently have regular AP's and were discussing getting PAP's. For those of you who have them, do you still go to the Waterparks and Disneyquest? Trying to decide before the rates go up.;)

The question is - will you go to a WP/DQ more than three times a year? With AP/DVC discounts on admission, you have to go 4 times for the PAP to be much cheaper than paying as you play.

We upgraded to the PAP and have been very happy that we did. We go to the Water Parks at least once every time we visit and we've got 3 upcoming trips planned. Plus, my wife loves DQ, so we have to go there at least once as well.
It's great to not have to budget for these extras, as they are already paid for in advance.

We usually get the Premium APs but will get the regular version next time. We'll be going in Dec/Jan this year and Nov/Dec next year and don't think we'll be spending as much time at the water parks. DD16 and DS13 have said they are fine with the resort pools so we're going to stick with that this time.

As someone else said, if you think you'll go to the WPs or Disney Quest more than 3 times in the term of the AP then go with the Premium. If not then go with the regular version.

I haven't been to Disney Quest since it first opened. Back then, it seemed rather sparse, leading me to never return. What do they have there now?

My DH loves it for the vintage video games...you know...PacMan, Donkey Kong and some of the more involved ones. The games are free with your admission and he likes to go over to DQ to play those for a while.

Other than that, DQ has virtual reality games (Aladdin's Magic Carpets, Pirates of the Caribbean, a cartoon villain/hero game, etc.) a Mighty Ducks Human Pinball game, a design-your-own Space Mountain attractions and some others. When we have admission as part of our PAPs we make sure to go. With regular APs we probably won't.

I think it also depends upon the people in your family. We have two teenage boys who are happy to go to DQ several times each trip, so we get the PAPs. We love that place!

Our once a year trip now falls in late May or early June. So we go to the water parks almost daily for a few hours. We'll hit DQ at least once as well.

We might have been able to get away with 1 or 2 days of water parks but for the few extra $ we spend about the same amount of time at the water parks, it is just more fun and convenient for be able to do it a couple hours at a time over 5 or 6 days, same thing with DQ.

Starbox hits the nail on the head:

Will you "use" the PAP's extras enough to justify the extra expense.

We wouldn't. Not at this point. The kids are just too young....the water parks just don't hold much sway over them yet. In a few years? Maybe.

And that's the only feature we'd really make use of...the water park admission. DQ is also too "old" for them and, quite frankly.....I'm a pretty avid gamer and I'm not a big DQ fan.

If you're a big WP/DQ fan, another option is a 10 day no expiration plus ticket.

If you won't spend more than 10 days in the park and 10 days in water parks, it's cheaper. It all depends of whether or not you do more than 20 park days per. year. That way, you get to "bank" any unused visits for future years.
