Premier Pass Question

For those that have one or know about them I am wondering if it is worth it.

We are going to DL in Feb for 3 days and then possibly taking a cruise in the summer (Florida) and we would go to the parks there for 3 or 4 days and then we are going next Jan for a week to DL (Jan of 13). So if we bought one and activated it in Feb of 12 we would get a 3 day trip to DL and a probably 4 or 5 day trip and then 3 or 4 days at DW.

I am terrible at math stuff. Would this be a better deal then buying ph's or getting a DL ap and then just buying the DW tickets? I am trying to figure out the best option.

TIA

This is a bit tricky because I don't think a safe bet could be made.

Right now it looks like 3day DL, 4day WDW and 4dayDL. $214+$260+$234=$708. I added tax to the WDW ticket. But assumed it was not a PH and it comes out not worth it, looking at tickets.

If you hop in WDW It becomes about $60 more and is worth a Premier. Are you going to hop in WDW? I'm pro hopping and use a strategy to make it worthwhile. Many people are anti hopping at WDW. So that's up to you.

Also at WDW will you be staying onsite? How about at DLR are you walking or driving to the parks? $15 a day stacks up after a possible ten days of parking.

The other thing to consider but isn't known is when and how much ticket prices will go up. And what will promotions be? Also if you stay onsite at WDW you always get an AP discount there beyond room promotions. But free dining promotions will not be an option unless you are buying tickets there.

Assuming prices don't change much, the DL Premium AP (no black out dates) is $499. The Premier Pass is $749. So, the difference in price is $250. You would need to decide if you're going for a 3 or 4-day ticket, with or without park hopping for WDW. Based on today's prices, if you're going to WDW for three or four days (no hopping), then the prices is pretty much the same. If you want park hopping, then the Premier is probably worthwhile. Remember, with the Premier pass you also get access to Blizzard Breach, Typhoon Lagoon, and DisneyQuest (at least currently you do).

Factor in the 15% - 20% off of merchandise and dining (most places honor this) and free parking (DL anyway) and it's "Value" adds up pretty quickly.

And... you would be able to purchase a TIW card for 20% off dining at WDW.

Here's another advantage... you don't have to re-visit any of the ticket windows or guest services for any of your return visits after your initial purchase!

The shopping (merchandise) discount at WDW hasn't been announced for 2012, so sadly there is no gaurentee that this will still be available in 2012. I think the OP was planning to get the Premium AP for DLR (so parking is included), but the question came down to the 3 or 4 day trip to WDW. Still it seemed like the OP right at the break point and in that case, I would get the Premier AP.

Along with what Figment said, the merch discount hasn't been renewed yet for WDW.

You don't get a dining discount in WDW like you do in DL with an AP. You have to buy that TIW(Tables in Wonderland) card to get the 20% off there. Also the TIW doesn't work everywhere, particularily in Epcot, because 3rd party managers of dining locations don't have to participate in that program.

Thanks so much everyone for the advice. Usually we don't park hop at DW but since we want to tack it onto a cruise we have limited time and so probably WOULD want to park hop since we will prob do at least mgm and AK in one day. This would be our 5th time going so prob would only want to go to MGM (or I should say Hollywood Studios LOL) for just a few rides like TOT and RNR and then spend the rest of the day at AK.

And as far as staying onsight it is hard to say but if we can get a decent deal we might and then do the dinning plan but really it is pretty up in the air at this point. Mainly just trying to figure out about the ticket options NOW since we would need it for our first trip in Feb which is not that far away.

Thanks again everyone for all your help and it is sounding like a premier might be the way to go! :)
