Hi there

Long time board lurker and very occasional commenter!

I have a 9 day Disneyland trip planned in May where I was planning to get an annual
pass as I will also be coming back in October/November. For the October trip I plan to arrive in time for Halloween, spend another few days and hopefully Dapper Day if it is on the first weekend in November(so 9 days) then go somewhere else and back again for for another 5 days when Christmas has started. Due to this many days it makes sense to get an AP (plus if flight prices are good I could potentially squeeze in another trip before my AP expires.

I have been to Disneyland (from Australia) several times so I am pretty comfortable with how it all works. However I have now decided that between Halloween & Christmas at DLR I will go to WDW for the first time - can never get enough Disney!

I have priced out the WDW part if the trip and I think it makes sense to get a premier pass but I would like someone with more experience to confirm this.

A Disneyland signature passport is $849, plus MaxPass at $75, plus a 6 day WDW ticket (single park per day) is $390 and memory maker is $149 for a total of $1483. A premier passport is $1485 including tax so the difference is only $2 but then I could park hop at WDW if I wanted and then I would get dining and merchandise discounts at WDW too. Are these calculations correct and would it make sense to do this?

Hi - it sure sounds like a great Disney year planned! I have a Premier & really have liked the no blackout dates. My one question on the Disney Signature is that you mention (I think) going to DL sometime over Christmas? If so, not sure of your dates, but I think the Signature could be blocked out - you would want to check that if you decide on the Signature (blockout over the holiday starts Dec 22nd).

For the calculations, you'd want to compare the $1,485 with tax (Premier) vs $1,508 (DL Signature, $849, max pass, $75, Mem Maker, $169, and 6 day non hopper with tax of $415.35). So if going to go all the dates + WDW, you would come out ahead before any WDW discounts on food or merchandise are factored in.

Signature is blacked out the weeks before and after Christmas (plus or minus a few days depending on how the calendar falls), but Signature Plus is good 365.
