Hey Guys,

We have a trip planned this year but I found out this week that I'm pregnant! We are both over the moon but obviously this changes a few things. I'll be about 5 months when we go. Does anyone know what rides I can/cannot go on in Universal and IoA. My DH will still want to ride so I'm hoping for single rider lines!

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

Let's go by land and park of the things you can't ride. For things with a single rider line I'll throw an asterisk *

Seuss Landing:Cat in the Hat, Sky Trolley
Potter:Dragons, Hippogriff, Forbidden Journey*
Jurassic Park:Everything
Toon Lagoon:Dudley Do-Right, Popeye(iffy because it spins you around, but no jostling or lapbars)
Marvel:Spiderman*, Dr. Doom*, Hulk*, Storm Force

Studios-

Despicable Me and Shrek have stationary seating...do those.
Mummy*
Disaster
MIB*
Simpsons
Transformers (if it's open)
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit*

There are tons of shows and things to walk around and see. If you could move up your trip by about two months, you'll be able to see Mardi Gras which is fun.

Spiderman, Sky Trolley, and Disaster could all be considered "maybes"

Spider-Man has a lapbar, has some mild spinning and shaking/jostling, but is not that violent overall.

Sky Trolley has a lapbar, but it's not even a fast ride.

Disaster, the ride part shakes and jostles you, and that's it. No lapbar.

You may want to watch some onride videos on youtube to help determine what you may want to skip. Transformers is the same as Spider-Man, btw.

Congratulations..I was also 5 months when we went several years ago. I had already planned our family vacation when I found out but we still went and had a great time.

I basically stayed away from the Roller Coasters and things with lap bars. Just make sure to drink lots and lots of water and rest often as well. I did do several of the rides, including Simpsons, Spiderman, Cat and the Hat. Maybe that is why my now 3 year old loves going on fast spinning things!

I just came back from a trip from Disneyland and DH and I were originally planning on a day at US Hollywood. We cancelled it once we found out I was pregnant. I looked through the list of attractions there and there were just so few that were okay for pregnant women to go on. I've been to US/IOA Orlando numerous times, and I would guess the same is true there.

At US, I think you could do Shrek (stationary), Terminator movie, Despicable Me (stationary), ET, MIB (if you are okay with some spinning)...and that's it.

At IOA, I think you can only go on the trolley in Suess Land and that One Fish Two Fish ride if you felt like it.

If your DH is dying to go, you could go and be a good sport about it...just don't except to ride very much. Unlike Disney, I don't think US/IOA has that wonderful, beautiful ambiance that makes sitting on a park bench and just "soaking it in" a fun time. With the exception of Harry Potter area--that area is awesome. But very, very crowded and often tough to find a spot to sit and just look around.

Congrats!!

Sounds like we will be there at about the same time, and about the same point in our pregnancies. :)

I'm disappointed that I can't ride anything at Harry Potter, since that's what I want to see most. But at least there will be lots for me to look at and do (ahem... BUY!) while my DH & brother ride the rides.

Also... you can walk through the lines to the HP rides and then just exit (I'm pretty sure for most of them) because the lines themselves are interactive and a lot of fun. I'm excited to check that part out at least, and hopefully return to do the rides another time!
