Pregnant DIS'ers--check in here! :)

well, good luck. Unfortunately I think you are going to find however that Texas is very much an Employment at Will State. This means that you work in his establishment at his pleasure.

See and that's one of the things I HATE HATE HATE about living here is the danged 'at will employment'. :( But...I have to say this in my favor...in the year or so I've been there, I've not been written up once for workplace misconduct and I'm one of the few cashiers who HASN"T managed to get fired in a few weeks or months. The only people who've been there longer than me is the Agent, one mgr and the kitchen staff.

phamton--I'll have to check on my last paystub, but I'm pretty sure I'm 'Full Time" even though I sometimes get less than 40 hrs per week due to scheduling restraints.

Bumping with an update!:bounce:

Saw the doc this morning and I am now dialated to a 3!:bounce: She also said that she would schedule an induction for me for sometime between April 2-4, in case I didn't deliver on my own by April 1. And as much as I really want to deliver on my own, induction is sounding more and more appealing by the day, tbh.

I know what you mean about induction sounding good at this point, TOV. That's how I would up getting induced myself. I will hope you go into labor on your own between now and the 1st, but if it does come to induction, just remember there are worse things in life.
I can't wait to hear about the new little one when he gets here!

Well and see the thing is, my doctor had told me weeks ago she wouldn't let me go more than a week past my due date before she induced me.

I'm just praying that he's not nearly as active out of the womb as he's been in.:p Even now, with little room to move in there cuz space is so tight, he's constantly wiggling or kicking and sticking his feet out (or what I think are his feet). "Guess that Bump" is one of our favorite games right now, trying to tell if a strange bump on my tummy is his elbows or his feet or his butt.

Alright TOV now is the time for you to start trying all those myths on how to start labor. Walking, eating Chinese, drinking castor oil (worked for my friend, personally I'd throw up), sex, driving over bumpy roads............

Well, I've tried the walking and it seems to help. Whenever I walk, I have contractions. But as soon as I stop, the contractions stop, which is way wierd. We also tried some Raspberry tea, but that did nothing for us. I'm tempted to go buy some Castor Oil, but I've heard all that really does is give you a superbad case of the squats.:earseek:

Castor oil worked on my friend.

For me....I was set up to be induced. The doctor told me not to eat anything...only liquids. Sure enough I went into labor. They say that happens if you don't eat. In Israel a lot of women go into labor on a holiday where you're supposed to fast for the day. Don't know how desperate you are.....

I don't think I could do that...if I don't eat, I get super cranky and I figure DH has had a hard enough time putting up with me the last nine months.:teeth:

I've heard about castor oil, but was more afraid of it than I was of being induced. I still am.:p

I've heard that with castor oil, there is an increased risk that the baby will also need to go potty and he'll pass the meconium before he's born, which is a risk. An enema, on the other hand, should be completely safe. Not pleasant, but safe.

Full moons work wonders, although the next one isn't until April 5. I've also heard hurricanes and other major storms also work. Ask any L&D nurse and they'll tell you that they get VERY busy around these times. Watch the weather - any major low pressure fronts moving your way any time soon? :teeth:

Someone last night also suggested we try a glass of red wine, followed by waxing the floor. Any truth to that?

And Kermit...an ENEMA? *shudder*No thanks!

Bumping with an update!

Doc's office called DH on his cell yesterday and IF this kiddo doesn't show up before Thurs (April 1, which is my due date), they have scheduled me an inducement for that day.

How's everybody else doing? Any updates from the rest of ya'll?
