Hi - I've been to Disney pregnant before but never to a water park. I'll be in my second trimester for this trip and was just wondering what is restricted? Can you do the raft rides (the family one for example)?
Thanks in advance,
Mo

With water, it isn't so much motion that is the issue, it is possible infection. What you need to avoid is anything that sends you feet-first or tush-first into water with any kind of force.

I was 8-wks pregnant and went to the water park (we had our two 12-yr old neices with us) and most of the attractions had warnings on them for pregnant women. Even though I was early on I was being careful so didn't really do a whole lot. I did the family raft at Typhoon Lagoon and the lazy river, but that was about it. It was pretty boring, but then I'm not a lay by pool all day kind of person.

hth.

Unlike the theme park where you can be properly secured--at a water park you cannot.

From personal experience--wave pool would be okay as long as you aren't going too far in to be tossed around (hey--I go to the beach preggers!). Lazy river would be good. With doctor permission---"low-key" slides where you are riding on something might be okay. Not sure if there are any though.

I would avoid anything that by design and the laws of physics--- causes a wedgy. Those I think would be too dangerous.

pregnant woman swim in pools all the time--so low key activities wouldn't be a problem.

You could probably swim with the sharks (though that sounds bad) at TL if they still do that. That is just snorkling. (Unless there is something biological that would make it dangerous. I know there are risks for swimming with dolphins for women at certain times--don't know about nurse sharks, fish and pregnancy).

Thanks - I'll talk it over with my doctor. I'm not too worried since my son is 3 so we can hang out in the kiddie part and do the lazy river. Just being in water is nice when pregnant so it should all work out!
