My friend, Linda, who is going to WDW with us in October has just told me that she in pregnant!!!! Although she is very pleased, it wasn't planned, and could not have happened at a worse time!!!!! Her daughter (my god daughter) is almost 10, so it has come as a bit of a shock to them. Linda is the one who was all set to have a go on all the big rides in Disney and Universal, and now there is practically nothing she can do, according to the books I have checked. It says that even Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain are not suitable. Can anyone help, by telling me which rides they think are DEFINITELY not suitable? I don't want her missing out on everything, as this is their first visit.

Also, if she can't go on them, then I'm going to have to go with DH, as her DH won't go on them.

Thanks for any input you can give me.

DW was pregnant during our last trip and whilst I can't remember exactly which rides she was able to do and which she was not, I do remember that we still both had a great time :)

I remember standing in line on my own for - Tower of Terror, Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Test Track, BTMR, Splash Mountain and I think Kilimanjaro Safari's may also have been another ride that she wasn't supposed to go on. We also went to IOA where there was pretty much nothing she could experience other than watching me enjoying myself ;) The studios was a bit better although she did have to miss out on riding the Mummy, which I rode twice just to make up the difference :teeth:

Kaylee will no doubt be along later and I'm sure she will recall better than I can which rides she was allowed to go on.

Thanks Alan.

My post has moved to the second page, so just giving it a wee bump, hoping that Kaylee, or someone else will notice it, and reply.

I have reminded Kaylee to pop in and post her thoughts later :)

Sorry Laura :) Alan has reminded me about this....

Congratualtions to Linda :cheer2: I was only 9 weeks pregnant when we went last Apr/May so fairly early on. I checked out the Disney for Families Board before we went and although there were many rides I couldn't go on I still had a wonderful time :teeth:

Here are a few tips for her - Stay hydrated - lots and lots of water, take it slow, or at least slower than you have before. It will be hard to tour commando style;) , If you can do the parks in half day's so you can rest - either a nap or time at the pool, Find the toilets on a map - you never know when you might need them :)

Here are the rides I avoided and I was very careful...

Magic Kingdom Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Goofy's Barnstormer, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, Teacups, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and AstroOrbiter.

Epcot Body Wars, Test Track and Mission Space.

Animal Kingdom Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin, Kilimanjaro Safaris and Expedition Everest.

Disney-MGM Studios Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Star Tours.

Also there was no time spent in the hot tubs :( and no Lapu, Lapu's either :( You may find posts on the Disney for Families Board which say they would go on some of the rides that I would skip. Disney will give a warning's if they think you shouldn't go on them but utimately it is whatever Linda feels comfortable with :)

Thats all I can think of for now, any questions PM me Laura :)

Thanks a million Kaylee, you've given me loads.

LInda seems to think that it is only the 'scary' rides that she won't be able to go on, so I think I'll show her exactly what you have said, and HOPEFULLY she will rethink it.

I'll also check out the Disney for Families board.

Oops, just realised that I have posted under John's screen name, silly me!!!!!
