Pregnant at DLR?

We are going to DLR for Dapper Days next fall. We are talking about trying for a baby as well. Option 1) try to plan pregnancy so I'm in second trimester for the trip. Option 2) just wait until at least the trip to try to get pregnant. Our little girl is already 4 so we are feeling a bit of a rush to get it done, but I want to enjoy the trip as well.

Of course, this depends all on your personal health and comfort level. With my history, I barely move in my first trimesters--but, I know, obviously, not everyone is like that!

I'd talk to your midwife or OB/GYN about their recommendation as far as rides go. My doctor was a DL fanatic, and would tell low-risk women to stay well-hydrated, rest a lot, and no rides with height restrictions. And, of course, there's a TON to do without height restrictions.

My daughter went to DLR when she was 6 months along. Her biggest problem was the heat. Her feet swelled so badly she could not wear her shoes.

I would schedule the trip, but not commit on anything that isn't refundable. That will allow you the most flexibility to make changes if life dictates.

I'm so sorry.

But you are absolutely right. I sort of cringe every time I see someone trying to plan things around conceiving a child. I always hope for the best on their behalf, but know only too well the pitfalls of assuming it will work according to plan.
