I just found out that there is going to be a new addition to our family and we are going to Disneyworld in about 5 weeks. We are not going to cancel even though my mom thinks that would be best. Ive checked out a few web sites with tips on what to do diffrently while visiting WDW with one on the way. So I thought I would come to the place where I could get some advice. I'll be about 9 weeks pregnant. So far Im just a bit tired now and then and Queezy in the afternoon. I work as a retail manager so Im walking around work a lot. Any advise from the disney mom's out there would be great!

I think Im going to need a new countdown now ....

Just wanted to say "CONGRATS!!!". Now, rub off on me...I'm testing soon (fingers crossed)...and will also be in WDW in about 5 weeks - Feb 5 - 12!

send some babydust my way too!!! i'll be testing in Disney World on our vacation!!!!

I went when I was in my 2nd trimester. I would just pay attention to the signs that warn pregnant women and do not ride, especiallyt he safari at animal kingdom.

Congrats!!

just dont go having a baby on a ride

My wife and I were there this past Sept for one week when she was 12 weeks pregnant. She didn't go on anything that Disney had the "pregnant women shouldn't ride" warnings. We are DVC members so we would go to the parks for a few hours, come back to the room and rest, the go back, then go rest, etc. She had major afternoon sickness and wasn't eating much, so we went to the supermarket and bought things she would eat. We went to the Hollywood and Vine buffet, but she came back crying with only a plate with some potatoes on it as she said that's all she thought she could keep down. We went slow and at her pace, and if she wanted to sleep in, we did.

One bit of advice...she was suffering from a very bad taste in her mouth while we were down there. After we got to our room, she realized that the Orbit bubble gum I had brought helped out a lot, but all I had with me was one pack. Disney sells NO gum ANYWHERE onsite, so bring some with you if you think you might suffer from this. The gum helped her out a lot.

Oh and by the way, congratulations and enjoy your trip as best you can!

I just wanted to say congrats! I won't be testing for a while but we just started to try again! If we get pregnant this first time, I will be due on my birthday, September 25. So when we go in March, I will only be a couple months pregnant. I just wanted to subscribe to hear the tips and tell you congrats!

First of all...Congratulations! :cheer2:

Second of all, I have been to WDW, while pregnant, three times. Two times were early on in my pregnancy, and one time was while about 7 1/2 - 8 months or so. As far a sickness goes, I felt better at Disney than anywhere else! I have not had morning sickness but terrible evening sickness with all three of my kids, which IMO, is worse. However, I have always said, I'd rather be sick in Disney than home - lol!! Words of advice are to keep hydrated, make sure to take your prenatal vitamins and also be sure to rest in the middle of the day!!!!! I also found that I needed the most rest in the first trimester and last. Drink water, water, water and take advantage of the great restaurants - try to eat healthy!!

As far as rides go, don't ride anything that you would think twice about taking a 2 or 3 year old on (excluding the scare factor!)

Congrats again and hope you have a wonderful trip! :earsgirl:

Congrats. You should have no problem with any of the rides. DW went on them up until 30 weeks or so. Just be aware that you might get tired a little quicker and be sure to drink plenty of water. Otherwise have fun and enjoy your trip.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! Water, water, water....drink plenty of it!!!!! Also, be sure to take notice of where all bathrooms are located!!! :rotfl: Disney is very good about posting what rides you should not ride if you are pregnant....just follow thier suggestions. There will still be lots for you to do and enjoy!!!!!

We have annual passes and I went to WDW during most of my pregnancy. Just keep yourself well hydrated. Listen to your body. Even though you may feel it's ok to ride a ride with a pregnancy warning, think twice. I had trouble on one ride that did not have a warning, the haunted mansion. My problem was with the part of the attraction where you turn around backwards and there is slight downhill dip. I was 11 weeks pregnant, and the dip really stretched my ligaments to the point of pain. Of course the dip and backwards is fast, but it felt like a pulled muscle that whole day.

Congratulations.

We were there about a month ago (16 weeks along at the time) and had a wonderful time. As others have said, pace yourself, know where the washrooms are, and keep yourself well hydrated.

I was still having a bit of morning sickness so I really watched what I ate. We stopped and bought bottled water as I find the tap water in Orlando doesn't taste great at the best of times. We also bought some soda crackers (a box with the little packages of 4 crackers) for those times when I was feeling a bit off -- I always had some in my purse just in case my stomach acted up.

Hope you have a great time.

First of all, Congratulations!!! DH and I will be celebrating our 15th Anniversary as well as my Birthday in just over 2 weeks. I will be 17 weeks pregnant with our 3rd child!! I can't wait to go, and plan on taking it at an easy pace and really taking everything in!! Enjoy your trip!!

LOL! I think she said 9 WEEKS, not months, Pop Daddy. Best advice I've read on these boards today! :rotfl:

Being 20 weeks myself, bring some snacks with you (crackers, fruit, ginger ale) because you never know when you'll feel queasy. I tended to get sick when I waited too long to eat throughout the first trimester. An empty stomach tended to bring on the nausea. We flew down from NY to Louisiana back when I was about 9 weeks, and having something to nibble on made the whole trip very smooth. You'll also never know if your favorite foods suddenly become disgusting to you, so having some standbys is a smart move.

Also, sit to rest periodically even when you don't think you'll need it. It'll help keep you energized longer. Don't wait until you feel tired to rest, you'll just go downhill from there.

 Congratulations!

I don't have advice. I just wanted to say CONGRATS!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Congrats! I've been to WDW twice during this pregnancy - once at 6 weeks and then at 6 months. I was spared having any morning sickness, so that wasn't an issue for me. I was just hungry - all the time!

Drink water, take breaks, put your feet up when you can. Enjoy the shows and slow moving rides. Confession: While 6w PG I rode RnR and TT. I figured, I've been on Disney busses that are worse than TT - and they don't heave seatbelts! And RnR has a shoulder harness but no lap belt, so no worries of having my belly jarred. It's also a really smooth ride. Am I saying that you should? No, just do what you think is right for you.

Don't cancel your trip! There's no need for that - you can have a GREAT time in WDW while pregnant!

PS - they need to create a pin that says "I'm not chicken, I'm pregnant". I would wait at the end of a ride for my friends and kept getting the comment, "You're too scared to ride too?", or "Is this where the chickens wait?". I wanted a sign explaining that I was PG!

CONGRATS!! Welcome to the pregnancy club :) I'm anxiously awaiting my first little one, who's due on 4-22. We went to WDW back in October/November, when I was about four months pregnant. It was fantastic! The worst part was that the trip was so short.

Some tips: 1. Make sure you bring a water bottle. It's important to stay hydrated, and you get dehydrated more quickly when you're pregnant.

2. Also, I carried around a few granola bars, because they could satisfy my snacking and were easy to carry without taking up too much room. At 9 weeks, I was suffering from some morning sickness, but snacking during the day (so as not to let my stomach sit empty for too long) seemed to help things A LOT.

3. If you feel tired, just take a break. I'm used to doing disney at high speed, but I did slow down a little for this vacation. It sounds like you're going during a less busy time of year, so standing on lines shouldn't be massive. If you feel like taking a break before or after riding things, just do it. You never want to get to the point where you're worn out!

4. Bathroom breaks! I have never been to the bathroom at WDW as many times as I was while I was pregnant. Luckily, there are bathrooms all over the parks. If you feel like "maybe I might have to go", just take the stop and go. With all the extra water drinking and walking, you'll need to.

5. Have fun and enjoy!! Make sure you keep eating and drinking and taking your prenatal vitamin, and you'll be fine. It was great walking around WDW and thinking about how happy we'd be taking our baby there in coming years. Check with your doctor as far as rides go. My doctor basically said "use your common sense," because I was still pretty early in my pregnancy. I didn't ride the Rock N Roller Coaster, Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain, and I steered clear of motion simulators like Star Wars. My doctor said that Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror would be fine for me to ride. (I skipped Splash, because it was too cold, but ToT was no problem).

Honestly, I was hoping we might be able to squeeze in another WDW last minute trip in late January/early February, but last week I was put on the dreaded bed rest. So we'll have to wait until December '06.

I went at 7-8 weeks pregnant and had a great time. Of course, that was before "All Day Sickness" hit. ;)

Just be sure you drink LOTS of water (even when it's not hot) and take breaks (even if you think you don't need them). I made the mistake of doing WAY too much, and it really did me in for a long time afterward. I was so sick and exhausted after just a few days I couldn't even open my eyes through the entire 18 hour drive home.

Pay attention to the warning signs, take good care of yourself and Baby, and you can definitely have a wonderful trip.

Me and the wife went when she was about 5 months pregnant.

We took many breaks from walking and were not park attackers.

We juts enjoyed being at WDW.
