I'm a HUGE Disneyland fan. I had a blast on my most recent trip,I got back on the 26th. Anyway, my husband and I are planning for a baby soon. I'll probably wait until the baby is 3 or 4 to take them. My question is, when I'm pregnant, do you think it would be best if I don't take a trip to Disneyland? I know I couldn't go on any rollercoasters, just the slow fantasy rides which would be fine with me. Any advice would be great!!! :flower:

I think if you are feeling good, then you should go! I had a friend who went to WDW when she was 5 months pregnant, they wanted to treat their son who was 3 to a special trip before he had to share his time with a baby brother! Anyway, she had a great time because the same rides her toddler could go on were the same rides she could. She was amazed at how many things she could do. That's the nice thing about Disney parks, they aren't just about thrill rides and rollercoasters. She also commented that all the restaurants, shows and nice places to rest were perfect for a pregnant vacation. I would just check with your doctor and if they say its fine then go for it. Also pick a cool time, being pregnant makes heat even more unbearable. Good luck with your family and Disney planning!

I went to DL at 6 months for New Years Eve along with DH and kids who were then 9 and 11. I had a lot of fun doing things I otherwise might not have done; just walking around looking at all the things you miss when you are in a hurry. Overall, there really aren't that many rides that you can't go on. My advice would be to go between 3 months and 6 months; that is usually when you feel the best (in between morning sickness and feelling too uncomfortable).

Hello Disneyland1084,
I was a Attractions operator at Disneyland for many years and just so you know you can go on all ride while pregnant legally they can not tell you no. They may discourage you from riding but you are free to ride any attraction. Obviously there are attractions that are not safe and those will have disclaimers on them for expected mother not to ride. If you have a question about a ride just ask the cast member in the front of the ride and they will tell you if it is okay to ride. It is safe to ride almost all rides (except for roller coasters and star tours) I hope you have a fun trip and good luck with trying to have a baby!!!!

Congratulations on your decision to start your family!! I am now 25 weeks with my third, and I was there in March at about 6 weeks, June at about 17 weeks, and I am going again in September around 32 weeks! I rode all the rides except for the mountains, Indy, and Matterhorn. Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle cruise, all of those were fine. Basically I stayed off almost anything that had a height restriction, but since you've been before, you know what to expect.

I tried to drink a lot of water (June was HOT), but that was it. I lasted for 3 full days, and also had my 4 and 2 year olds with me, so you should be fine. DH did not go, and I was still okay. I go with a friend that takes her three kids also, ages 3, 3, and 1, so we are quite a group while there. I plan on taking it a little slower in September, but not much!!

Also wanted to say that Disneyland is a great place for babies and toddlers, these have been some of our most magical trips. GOod luck if you can wait till they are 3 or 4, but if not, go and have a great time as a family!!!

Andrea

Go and have FUN :teeth:
My husband and I went to Disneyworld this past January and I was 7 months pregnant! We had a wonderful time! Instead of beelining for the big rides (they were no-no's) we had a wonderful time seeing everything we normally bypass.
Although we did bring back an ornament to celebrate Christian's "first" Disney trip ;)
Drink lots of water, rest when you need to and have a wonderful time!

I would reccomend renting a wheelchair if you do, no point in taking chances with all of that walking.

I found out I was pg 2 weeks after I bought my PAP, and I really feel it doesn't change anything. Since we have 2 toddlers, the tamer rides are a must for us anyway. Plus, DH LOVES that he gets twice the fastpasses! Walt did a good job inventing a park that parents and children can have fun together, and that includes parents "with child"
I lve that pregnancy is no longer a house-arrest condition, one of the things I love about living in the 21st cenutury.
Just have fun, and pace yourself!

I went when I was 5 months pregnant with my oldest and was fine to go on most rides (except those with height restrictions). I remember being a little bit more tired and having to rest more often. I am planning on going in October when I will be 4 months along with #4. I plan on going on all the rides I can take my youngest (will be almost 2) on, and I think I might also "cheat" and go on Soarin'. I know it has a restriction, but I think it's very tame. My only concern is that I had a pelvis separation last pregnancy, and I am afraid of a flare-up by then- triggered by all the walking. Enjoy!! Rest a lot- try to leave mid-day for a nap (helpful even when not pregnant!) and slow down your pace a bit.

Instead of height restrictions, look at your map and avoid rides with the red triangle. These are the "no-no" rides. Soaring is totally safe, but one no one thinks of is Autotopia, but getting bumped or the jerky movements create a not-so-good result. I would also recommend skipping the teacups- just looking at them last time make my stomach dance  (and not in a good way)

Please go by the disclaimers at the front of the rides not hieght restrictions. There are a few rides without hieght restriction that can be more harmful then the ones without. Have fun!

Well, of course I would check the warnings, but generally speaking, the two usually correspond. (Now I am dying to know which don't!)

Which rides with height restrictions don't have warnings?
Which rides without height restrictions do have warnings?

I am hoping it's not something I had planned on doing!

Thanks!

Soaring is totally safe,

soarin is okay??? really?????? i will be seven months when we go in october, and i don't mind not doing all my otherwise favorites since my mom and i will just spend ooddles of time in fantasyland instead, somthing that my uncle doesn't usually allow for, but i was also thinking of taking the risk and riding soarin'. it is my favorite!!!!

I have my park maps out, so here goes:

California Adventure Attraction with warnings:
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Tuck and Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies
California Screamin'
Mailboomer
Mulholland Madness
Grizzly River Run

Disneyland Attractions with warnings
Indiana Jones Adventure
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Matterhorn Bobsleds
Autopia
Space Mountain
Star Tours

Hope this helps!

I've been to both Disneyland and Disney World many times pregnant. Actually, I found it easier with my kids inside my stomach than outside. Way more work after they are born! Just drink a lot of water and know that you can't ride any of the height restricted rides. I found this was good to prepare me for when I had a baby and for the next few years they couldn't ride them either. Enjoy!!:goodvibes

I went when I was 7 months pregnant running after my 18 month old son! I think that was my favorite trip. Since I was pregnant and we had a little one we slowed it down and just chilled on the bench more often. We have since learned that we like taking breaks in the middle of the day so we just stay a day or two longer!
