I will be 16 weeks pregnant when we visit US & IOA in 2 weeks. I was wondering what if anything I can ride? Thanks! Dani
The way it was explained to me when I was last pregnant was that if a ride or attraction is going to cause the blood and fluids to be pulled away from the baby, then those are what you want to avoid as they can cause the baby to become distressed. And it makes sense! Rides that fall into that category would be ones that spin and drop you from a great height. Rides that bounce you around should be fine, the baby is SO well protected in there!!! There are going to be warnings on almost anything, to cover themselves, but use common sense. As DM said, you CAN go on anything but the safety and well-being of the baby would definitely come first. I would stick with rides that don't spin you or drop you. I would definitely NOT go on the coasters (small or large), men in black, probably not spiderman, (though that's a bigger spin and is pretty brief, but I don't know if I'd do it), Ripsaw falls and Jurassic Park. Have the spin shut off on Cat in the Hat as that's not a baby spin! Oh, and definitely not Dr. Doom or Storm Force Accelatron. I would probably do Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges as that is more of a rotation than an intense spin...but again, don't do anything you're not comfortable with.
Other than MIB in the studios and Woody Woodpecker, I think anything there is fine.
Even though alot of Islands is pretty much off limits, it's still a must-see park and there is still quite a bit to do and see there. It is my second favorite park for theming, with the Magic Kingdom being the only one better, IMO. You can wait in line to check out the theming of the queues and get a feel for the attractions, they really did a great job with the stories and theming!
Be sure to drink PLENTY of fluids...it's going to be HOT! And rest often...find airconditioning every once in awhile!
Have fun!
Karen
