Pregnant and New Mommy DIS'ers....Check In 8/29

Baby Allison is growing fast! She was 9 lbs 3 oz at her 1 month check-up yesterday (she was only 6-13 at birth). Last night she only got us up ONCE. But normally her awake time is somewhere between 1 and 5 am. TV is really bad at that hour.

Nathan is already 3 1/2 months old and he has just endured his first illness. Mommy somehow survived as well. When we took him to the Dr. he weighed in at 11 lbs. 6 oz. which is more than double his birth weight!


Pembo - I don't know if you like music videos but VH-1 has a program called Insomniac Music Theater that is on between 2-5 in the morning. It was a lifesaver for us! I also bought season 1 of Friends and season 3 of Sex and the City so I could watch an occassional episode other times of the night.

Congrats on your baby girl and to all of the other pregnant and new mommy DISers!

Well, Michael is almost 4 months already! He's really big and has already outgrown his 0-3 months clothes, is fitting snuggly in his 3-6 months clothes, and can even wear some 6-9 month clothes (just the shirts though). I can hardly believe it! He's talking up a storm, drooling all over everything, and he's starting to laugh when you tickle him...especially on his feet

We bought him a stationary activity center and it has been a lifesaver for me. He stays entertained in there for quite a while and he's starting to learn how to play with all the toys on it. At first he just kinda stared at them like, "What am I suppose to do with this?"

The time just goes by too fast!

Pembo - congratulations!! I never heard what happened to you - I guess you had a baby girl! I was on vaca for a few weeks, so I probably missed it. How's everything going? How are your other children adjusting?

I'm 22 weeks, and doing OK. I had a level II ultrasound done a few weeks ago and everything was perfect - and we're having a boy. But just this past monday I had a bad episode where I blacked out at my desk at work. As it turns out, my normally high blood pressure, which I have taken meds for since I was 8 weeks, dropped to 88/53. Needless to say, I wasn't feeling too well! Luckily I work at the hospital where I will deliver, and they took me upstairs and pumped me full of fluids to get my pressure back up. The baby is fine, and they have cut my meds in half, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. I've decided I am just NOT cut out for the pregnancy business. Thank goodness this will be my last!

Hi mcque! Yes I had Allison on July 28. She is wonderful and the big brothers are VERY sweet and gentle with her.

In fact my 1st grader has asked to hold her both mornings before school, I think it helps him relax.

Congrats on the boy mcque--remind me, do you have other kids?

Sorry Pembo - I was logged in as my other half (McQue) and didn't realize it!! I am a little concerned about my daughter who's 4 and her soon-to-be brother. She is soooo excited about the baby, but I'm really afraid that the jealousy is going to get her. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Elliot is 7 weeks and growing like a weed. He was 11 lbs at his 6 week checkup! Here is a pic of my little man in his hawaiian shirt for his big sister's birthday luau.

24 weeks and counting! Had my level II ultrasound a few weeks ago and everything looks great! I wanted to find out the baby's gender, but my husband didn't so I respected him and we didn't find out. However, we did have the doctor record it in my chart just in case. Well, Tuesday was my birthday and my dear sweet hubby gave me a gift certificate allowing me to find out the baby's gender!! At this point I am so torn. Do I want to find out or do I want to respect his wishes more? Arrgh! So, I haven't called yet, but it gets harder every day. At any rate, I am feeling great and can't wait to see what this little munchkin really looks like. Christmas can't come fast enough!!

MosMom -

My Logan was born the day after your Ellliot! We haven't had an appt since the one month checkup where he weighed 10 lb 9 oz...but we were at the dr with big brother the other day and I put Logan on the scale and weighed him myself. I didn't take his clothes off, but dressed in light clothes and a clean diaper he was 13lbs 9 oz....this was at one day shy of 7 weeks. I can't wait to see what he weighs at his 2 month checkup!

I'm 17 weeks now and feeling great. I'm still tired, but the horrible morning sickness is gone. I'm totally in maternity clothes now. Next week I have my ultrasound, and we're hoping the baby will cooperate so we can see the sex.
