We are about to leave next week for what will be one of our last trips for quite a while :guilty: I am going to be 10 weeks pregnant and want to know about riding Soarin'. My doctor told me to follow Disney's recommendations but there are none listed under Soarin on the web-site so I thought I would ask those who have already ridden it. Do you think it is to wild or is it tame enough for me? Thanks for the help. princess:

WDW transportation is more bumpy than this ride.

I'm no doctor...but I think Soarin' would be fine.

it's incredibly smooth...not jerky at all.

Soarin' is not much more than a Ferris wheel ride or a ski lift ride in all practicality. You sit, are strapped in and , depending on what "row" you are sitting in, then hoisted 8-20 feet in the air. The seat moves with the flow of action on the screen, which is very slight.

In short, you should be fine. No extreme forces, abrupt turns, drops, etc.

I have to agree. You should be just fine riding Soarin'.

It is really a tame ride. My 4yr old dgd loved it. Doesn't jossle you around etc. Unless you have a lot of morning sickness you probably will be okay. I cannot ride the other simulator rides but this one is good. No problems at all. Maybe someone could ride it first and then you can decide.

It is smooth just like you are hang gliding, without the rough landing.

10 weeks, no big deal. It should be fine. It might be a little uncomfortable in the 3rd trimester, but 1st no problem at all. I agree with stinkerbelle, the busses are worse.

But then again I rode MS 8 weeks pregnant (and dinosuar and the safari ride.)

Thanks so much. The morning sickness isn't bad so that shouldn't be a problem. I was really hoping it would be okay as I am a little bummed to mis Splash Mountain and KS at AK. Thanks again. :teeth:

I was about 10 weeks when we went to Disney this July and I didn't have a problem with Soarin' at all. In fact, my Dr told me to ride anything I wanted! I didn't but was sooooooooooooooooooooo tempted when we walked past TOT and RNRC at MGM! I did ride MS and TT at Epcot and SM at MK.

My doctor told me to stay away from any spinning rides in particular (no tea cups, definitely no Mission Space). He said the other rides were okay (not telling you to do them though, listen to your dr.). But Soarin' should be fine for you. Enjoy, it's a phenomenal experience!!

I have also read on the boards that the Safari at AK is fine, particularly if you ask to be seated in the wheelchair accessible seat. I am 19 weeks and planning to ride it this weekend.

Soarin' is a great ride my 3 year old dd loved it. I went when I was 28 weeks pregant and rode the safari ride. I told the cm and they sat us in the front row. I found the Norway ride in EPCOT horrible though.

You just need a row toward the front of the Safari Jeep. The handicapped (wheelchair accessible) Jeep loads in a totally different place (with usually a much longer line than the regular loading area). I have read posts where people have said that the handicapped jeep is less bumpy, but I've ridden on it a lot of times with DD in her wheelchair and have ridden on the regular jeeps when we didn't have DD with us. They use the same bumpy roads, so the handicapped jeep is no less bumpy.
I do think the rows closer to the front od the tram are less bumpy than the rows toward the back though.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: So true! one of the wildest rides we have ever been on was on one of their buses.

I agree. The Pooh ride is bumpier and harder on the body than Soarin'! (not to mention the buses or any other transportation for that matter). You are raised more slowly than an elevator, for instance.
