We are going to WDW for Thanksgiving and I will be about 11 weeks pregnant. What rides are ok for me to go on at this time? Any advice would be great..Thanks!!

Also, any ideas for taking a 9 month old?

Thanks
Cassandra

Have a talk with your Dr, but you should be fine. Anything that is safe for a baby or young child to ride you can do with out any problems.

I went at 8 weeks and my Dr. told me no restrucitons. Anything I felt up to I could do, the baby is so small and protected at that point (Not showing at all) that is is fine. I ended up riding Mission space (I was already throwing up, why not?) Safri ride and Dinosuar. All the rest with kiddy rides. 11 weeks is almost the second trimester so it is a little bit futher along.

I also went at 32 weeks 1st pregnacy and didn't do any major rides at that time. (I wouldn't have dreamed of it, I was so uncomfortable then.)

If you don't feel like doing the ride don't. After all it is better to be safe then sorry, and there will be other trips hopefully. (at least there was for me.)

I went while I was eight weeks along. I stayed off the big rides and took the parks in at a slower pace than we were used to. If you have a 9 month old, you will probably be doing that anyway, so that shouldn't be too different. Like the pp, I knew we would be going again, so I was ok with missing out on the big rides that time around. Allearsnet has Tips for expectant mothers you may find some useful information there too.

Most of all, have a great time!

Thanks! I did talk to my Dr and he said no major rides just the kiddie rides. I am ok with that, we go to WDW about every year so it really isn't that big of a deal. I am so excited and am counting down the days!!! I can't wait to go, the only bad thing is we are driving from Texas. Usually this isn't a problem but I have a feeling it will be this time. Oh well, I will get over it. Thanks again I really appreciate it.

Leaving for WDW on Nov. 19th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're going to WDW the weekend after Thanksgiving and I will be 13 weeks pregnant. This will be the third time I will be there while pregnant, so I'm getting used to it!;) The first time I was about 20 weeks, and the second time I was about 33 weeks (that was a little tougher!)

My ob told me to avoid anything with sudden stops (such as Test Track, Tower of Terror, etc.) because jarring movements could be dangerous. I still plan on doing things like Splash Mountain, the safari, etc. because I feel will be relatively safe.

Just be sure to drink lots of water and get lots of rest (not easy with a 9 month old, I know)!

The biggest problem with splash montain is the way the seat are, you sit in a rather uncomfortable incline. At 13 weeks you mostly like are not showing much and it shouldn't be too bad. I did safari also. (as did my pregnant friend.)

BTW any water slide were you enter the water feet 1st with a rush is a no no. The reason is water can enter the women causing infections. Swimming is fine, even raft rides in the early part of the pregnancy. (Lazy river is fine too.)

I would be hesitant to ride Splash Mountain while pregnant. Those ride vehicles can stop suddenly (especially in an emergency). Sometimes at the end of the ride the logs get backed up and they bump each other.

Since you're driving, make sure you get out to stretch at least every 2 hours. Sitting for too long in the car can cause a blood clot in your leg, and the risk is increased during pregnancy.

Congratulations!!!!!

Just peeking in to see what this was all about since we just found out last week we are expecting our third and we will be there for Christmas so I'll also be about 11 weeks along. :)
