Pregnant and Filling out Special Services form

I am currently pregnant and will be 16 weeks at the time of sailing. It states that I need to fill out the Special Services form. I printed it out from the DCL website, but the form has nothing to do with pregnancy. It doesn't ask me ANYTHING about being pregnant?!?!?! All of the questions ask about utilizing oxygen, special medications, Guests that are deaf/hard of hearing, wheelchair accessible staterooms, and service animals. Is this the right form??

At the top, does it say "Guest Medical Information"?

In that form, it has a section that says "Pregnancy: If Guest is pregnant, please indicate number of weeks as of sail date listed above:______
And below that is a line for your doctor's signature and information.

The pregnancy info area is about halfway down the page. Above that, there is a section (all of this is inside of a large box) that says "Current Medical Status:" and there you would simply write "pregnant"

I filled out the same form. I just put how far along I was and sent it in.

Actually I called the DCL phone line and asked the same question.
The CM there said the rule has changed and that there's no need to get anything sent in as long as you are within the 24 weeks limitation.

And I did my online checkin, part of the online check in document actually asks if this passenger is pregnant? And how far along.

The CM on the phone says that we can send in the Guest SS info if we need/want to for any other medical reason.

BTW, congrats and I think our due date is about the same

I will be 20 weeks for our January cruise. So do I need my doctor's signature? I will only see her the week after Christmas then right after the cruise and want to bring whatever I need with me then. By the way, I'm 15 weeks now and it would be lovely to cruise right now!!!

I would say that just to be on the safe side, simply have your doctor write a note on her prescription pad or letterhead, stating your due date and that you have no complications. You could just take this with you, rather than send it in ahead of time.

Congrats!
From what the CM told me over the phone, you do NOT need anything formal from your doctor.
Now, you can definitely bring any documents you want for a just in case situation. But they don't need you to sign anything.

And IF you are showing more than what you think a 20week pregnancy shows (or if you have twins), or if your pregnancy is a bit "bumpy" (gestational diabetes, etc. etc.) it isn't a bad idea to have your OB/doc write a formal letter to bring. Or even get a copy of your charts.

I'm not sure why DCL is changing it's policy but according to them, no need for signed document anymore...

Personally, I'd bring something signed by the doc to be safe. I can cite MANY examples of one CM on the phone giving incorrect information. Much better to have the documentation and not need it than to risk being denied boarding because of something that a CM said.

Congratulations to you too! It was always a dream of mine to cruise pregnant.....endless food choices for a very indecisive prego person like myself! My cravings change by the hour it seems!

Thank you! I may just ask for them to sign something with my due date just in case. Because we leave on a Saturday, in case they did want to get in touch with my OB if they did question me, it would probably be difficult and stressful. This is my second pregnancy so I am a bit bigger than I was before.

It's funny because I talked to my OB about it last appointment to be sure I was safe to travel before paying the rest of the cruise off. Just in case! She told me that having a cut off of 24 weeks is so silly and that is still such an early phase in the pregnancy. But I guess if something was wrong, it would be important to get immediate care.

Did anyone else get the travel insurance for any "just in case" situations? Usually we don't....but with it being DD's first cruise (at almost 3) and being prego we went for it.

I did... specifically because of this.
My first pregnancy was pretty uneventful but the morning/noon/night nausea was overwhelming (almost up to 16weeks). Unfortunately we didn't know we were going to TTC until months after the MV cruise is booked Talk about poor planning eh?

So when we decided to TTC I started to look at insurance just in case I end up completely miserable and had to go to the doctor on board. That's only because the MV cruise can't be moved/cancelled. If it could I probably would've moved it around a little bit.

I hope your morning/noon/night sickness is gone by then and you can eat everything you want!!!!

I agree with this statement.
But still wonder that if they "might" need it why would they take the requirement out of the Special Services Information. If DCL is concerned with proof wouldn't they have left the requirement intact?

Anyways, I know nobody on this board could really answer this. Just my musing for the day

Thanks Everyone! I think maybe I downloaded the wrong form. Mine says "Guest Special Services Information" on top not "Guest Medical Information". I'm going to go back onto the DCL site and look for the correct form. After your replies, I think I'm also going to ask for a doctors note stating how far along I am just in-case anyone asks. I'm only going to be three months but I'm tiny to begin with so my belly is already big. LOL

I looked in the check-in page and the Guest Special Services Information sheet do not require any pregnancy information.

And I also already noted during the online check-in that I will be at xx weeks.

Is there any other document that I will need to bring?
I want to make sure that we won't have any trouble during boarding.

Unfortunately I've been reading somewhere that the spa on the other 2 ships wouldn't give you massage if you're pregnant...
So I'll assume this one won't as well. But I could be wrong.

I don't want to get in trouble for going , but I bet I can still purchase the multi-day pass to use the Tropical Rainforest (if they have something similar to it on the Dream). We will see.

Unfortunately I don't think I could do it this time around either, I want to explore the ship!
I'm soooo excited to just go and see what they have on the boat. I already told DH I'm not getting off the boat other than CC for lunch. I want to see the little details they have onboard. I think he rolled his eyes at me...
