Pregnant and Buzz Lightyear?

For some reason, when I go to Disney's wdw website and search for rides to avoid when pregnant, Buzz Lightyear shows up. When I click on the Buzz Lightyear ride to see what the advisory says, it doesn't say anything about not riding when pregnant. Any one know what's the scoop? Just an error? If so, which way? TIA!

I can't imagine why there would be a reason to avoid it while pregnant when it doesn't even have a height restriction.

I don't know the official answer, but I would think this is a safe ride during pregnancy. No drops, not jolts, no bumps. The only concern would probably be motion sickness.

I agree with PPs....the only thing I can think of is because you spin, but it isn't like a huge spin. I would think pregnant women could ride this ride easily...but what do I know :rotfl:.

I agree with all the others. It should be fine.

I have been on Buzz Lightyear while pregnant.

I would do it while pregnant. Not HUGELY pregnant, though, because the front of the car gets somewhat close to your belly when it is closed so it could be uncomfortable 3rd trimester depending on how you are carrying.

Otherwise, there can be a little jarring as you use the joystick to flip the car right and left as you pass the vignettes. And you need to be sure on your feet on the "moving carpet".

Hey - long-time lurker, first-time poster

When I was preg and visited Walt Disney World as well as Disney World, I had no trouble with nearly any of the rides. My mom is a midwife, so it was like having my own medic with me!

Buzz was NOT an issue. However, if you are prone to any morning (or afternoon, or evening sickness!), you may want to be cautious of the spinning rides. I had a couple of bad Mickey Bar + spinning = bad things incidences.

The rides I did NOT do were:

Any of the coasters
Tower of Terror
Mission Space
Kilimanjaro Safari :(
Teacups
Star tours
Dinosaur (or Indy at DL)
the little speedway or autotopia (Too bumpy)

Other than that, I think I was good.
Post baby: My LO has been on Pirates and the Safari ever since he was 8 months old! He loves Pirates b/c of the drop (securely wrapped in my baby wrap, of course) and thinks the Safari is awesome with all the animals. Of course, I must be driving ever other guest insane with my constant monologue of "Look Patrick, look, look, look!!".

We're heading to Disney 1/27 and I'm 28 weeks along. Why is the Safari ride to be avoided? The bumps? It's one of my favs and we have it on FP +
Thanks!

I would say the Safari is to bumpy for a pregnant woman. It can get a little rough.

I rode the safari when I was about 26 weeks along in December. My car at home goes on bumpier roads than the safari! Talk to your doctor about it because every pregnancy is different, but as long as you are having a normal pregnancy, it's totally fine. If you are flying to Orlando, your flight could have more bumps than the safari :) Disney has to cover all of their bases, so they are always extra cautious for their warnings. If you are worried sit in the front row where it will be slightly less bumpy.

I would not go on Safari when pregnant. It is way worse than driving on a potholed filled road hitting every pothole on purpose, but similar. My youngest son showed his only sign of motion sickness on that ride, and I never saw him look motion sick any other time -he was a very pale white. We did sit all the way in the back.

Buzz - as long as you don't have a mischievous child (or husband!) going crazy with the joystick then it should be fine.
Safari - there are variables here - where you sit in the vehicle, the driver and the path they take. You might have a smooth ride with bumps no bigger than you drive over at home. Or you might have a ride so bumpy that your butt repeatedly leaves your seat. You just don't know. You can request to sit in a certain row, but you might still have a very bumpy ride. I personally wouldn't risk it, but I had a really bad experience where my husband ended up grabbing my shirt to keep me from falling out (no I wasn't standing or leaning out of the vehicle or doing anything stupid).

I don't think Buzz is an attraction that needs to be avoided while pregnant. I rode it at 30 weeks and don't recall it having a restriction at least at that time (DD is 3 1/2 now). That same trip I also rode the Safari, but I did ask to sit in the front, which tends to be less bumpy. I was fine. Of course, that doesn't mean you will be fine and that is a ride that is listed as restricted for pregnancy. You should consult with your doctor.
