Pregnant After Tubal?

Me! DS is 15 and we call him our miracle baby!
DDs are from previous marriage, I did not want any other children with him. Had my tubes tied. Met current dh a year later and said "hm, what if we fall in love and want to have a child together?" and 3 months after we started dating, I was pregnant. ;)

This is why they rarely do tubals with clips anymore. Clips slip off. If they do the loop procedure, the sutures they used could dissolve and reopen the tubes. :) My favorite cousin is one of those.

My OB assured me that tubals with cauterization were way more effective. Then I begged her to cauterize them in more than one place

I know of two women that had successful pregnancies after a tubal. One was just a couple years after the tubal, the other was nine years after.

This thread makes me real nervous.:rotfl2:

I had one 10 years ago and it has been successful so far. I pray it stays that way.

:lmao: I hear you! I had mine 5 years ago & I hope it's still going strong :rolleyes1

I know I'll get honest feedback here because you know when you google stuff.....you never know what to expect!

Do you know anyone who has gotten pregnant after a tubal ligation? (WITH their tubes tied?)

I'm just curious......

I work with people who had an amazing experience. Both were second marriages, she had tubal, he was fixed....they had a baby!

We know someone who got pregnant after a tubal, another person who got pregnant after her husband had a vasectomy, and even someone who got pregnant after she had a tubal and her husband had a vasectomy! In the last instance, a woman who had been married for a short while decided with her husband that she should have a tubal. He had the vasectomy before he knew her.

Not one, not two, but THREE people.

Yes, more than one.

One had a tubal and her husband had a vasectomy. Looks like God had other plans. ;)

When I worked in Post Partum I saw it a few times. One lady came in 3 years in a row. The first time, she delivered her 3rd baby and had her tubes tied during a Csection. A year after that she was back with an ectopic--lost her ovary. A year after THAT she was back with another ectopic--lost her only remaining ovary. Some women would have been devastated, but she was ecstatic! :goodvibes

I had mine when I was 23. I'm 34 now. I regret it as the worst decision of my life. I should've done an IUD but I was young and not really knowledgeable about those things. I'd love to have another baby but I don't have the money just yet for a reversal or IVF.
After this Disney trip, as I've proven to myself that I can save up a good amount of money, I will start saving for a reversal. I had the bilateral pomeroy technique done with no cauterization.
I was just curious the number of women who do end up PG naturally in spite of a tubal. Until I have the $6200 saved, I will just continue to pray!

I had a tubal over 13 years ago...my oldest turns 18 this month and I still sweat it when my cycle is late!!!

My OB was awesome, she cut out a big section and cauterized both ends. You guys are freaking me out!:scared1:

Yes. Her tubes actually grew new ones alongside where they were tied. After the birth of her 6th she had them completely removed.
