I know I'll get honest feedback here because you know when you google stuff.....you never know what to expect!

Do you know anyone who has gotten pregnant after a tubal ligation? (WITH their tubes tied?)

I'm just curious......

One of my old regulars had a tubal and got pregnant some 15 years later. It was an ectopic pregnancy, but she did in fact, conceive.

I had a tubal 2.5 years ago and have not.

My Mother concieved after having a tubal when I was 4 or 5. It was an ectopic ( that doesn't look right, so appologies if it's spelled wrong! ) pregnancy and she had emergency surgery.

Last year, after the birth of her fourth child, my husband's cousin had her tubes tied. Four or five months later, she became pregnant. It was also an ectopic pregnancy and was terminated.

Yes, my ex-coworker had an etopic pregnancy after she had a tubal done. Her Dr. told her it is more apt to happen if you have the tubal done young, which in her case (27 years old) was the case.

I know someone who changed her mind after having a tubal ligation (got remarried) and had a child via IVF, but that's probably not what you're looking for.

This thread makes me real nervous.:rotfl2:

I had one 10 years ago and it has been successful so far. I pray it stays that way.

I know of 2 women who have become pregnant after a tubal. One was ectopic and one wasn't.

I know a lady who did. She had her tubes tied after her third child and got pregnant about 3 years later. The doctor said "this baby was just meant to be here". I think he was expecting to see some reason why she was able to get pregnant but everything was just as he had left it. After the birth, he did another procedure to help insure that it wouldnt' happen again.

I had a friend growing up who was who was a surprise baby on 2 fronts. His mom used to say "Well, I had a tubal AND thought I'd hit menopause, but God knew better how many kids this family needed."

Do you know what type of procedure was done? Pregnancy after tubal happens more often with clips (with higher incidents after ten years). They are almost always ectopic.

I know what you mean, Carla! My TL was 35 years ago, should I be worried? LOL! Back in the day, I had to have DH's signed permission to have a TL. I told him he could sign or have a vasectomy, and I would perform the procedure!

Having a TL at age 28, after two daughters, was the second-best decision I ever made.

Had my tubal in 2004, 10 months after my youngest was born. In 2008 had all the signs of pregnancy but was in denial. It took 4 pregnancy tests to convince me to call the docoor!! Ended up being ectopic and my ob went in and in his words, burned and tied my tubes. So far so good.

Gosh, you are all scaring me! Had mine done (with cauterization..no clips) last month. I certainly do not need any presents. My kids are 13 and 16 and I am DONE!!! Doc told me if it did happen it would be an ectopic and at that point I would tell her to yank everything out to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I know someone who got pregnant after her husband had a vasectomy. DH made sure he didn't use the same doctor. :lmao:

The mother of one of my childhood friends became pg after having her tubes tied. She had just had her 3rd child and the procedure immediately following. A few months later, she was shocked to find out baby #4 was on the way. She had them cut, tied and cauterized after that. She said she didn't want another surprise 6 months down the road!
