We're heading down in September, I've got business in Orlando so the little lady (who is expecting) and the littler lady (who is 3) will be going it alone during the day. Pools will be a big factor, as well as convenience getting around the property. I'd love to get on the monorail for the girls to have an easier go at getting to the parks, but the big boss probably wouldn't appreciate the Grand Floridian showing up on an expense report. Any recommendations among the moderate resorts?

I hear good things about the Coronado Springs pool, but the property is spread out. I'm leaning towards CS.

I've eaten at Boatwrights plenty of times, but never stayed at Riverside. The Food Court would be handy, and I recall a lot of pools? POR is my second choice.

Don't know much about Caribbean Beach other than it's big.

I don't know much about French Quarter, not many pools?

All of the moderates (except FQ, which I don't believe will be opened back up by then, but I'm not 100% sure) are spread out. Getting around at any of them shouldn't be a major problem as long as you request the right area of the resort for convenience. I've never stayed at CS, but have visited. I've stayed several times at PO, and a couple of times at CBR. I personally prefer POR, and I also have a 3 yo, but the pool is probably nicer at CS. I didn't care so much for the food court at CS, but again, others really liked it. When we visited, we happened to walk in when a bunch of conventioners in suits were standing around talking business. That was a turn-off for me, but it might just have been a coincidence for when we happened to be there.

CBR might be a good choice because you will have the food court and main pool next to each other. You could request buildings close to those locations.

If your child is only three the main pool might not be the big attraction and you could use one of the many quiet pools.

I would stay at FQ. It is a small moderate so not so much walking. The pool is great! My sons 2 and 5 loved the theme of the pool area and the water slide is fun. I think the smaller area and easy walk to the food court would be good for a pregnant woman. Have fun!

The last visit at PORS (Dixie Landings), I swore I would never stay there again because of the walking around that had to be done. I would rather do my walking in the parks - not getting to my room at 11:00 or so at night.

I would agree with POFQ because it is much easier to and from room to buses, but will it be open when you go?

We went to WDW in May and stayed at CS. I was 5 1/2 months pregnant and my dd is 2 1/2. She loved the pool. There were places in the big pool that she could hang out at and she liked the baby pool also. Although the resort is spread out it didn't bother us because we were placed in a great room. 4 days prior to arrival I faxed a letter requesting that we be in a first floor room of Cabanas 9B. We were placed in room 9546 and it was right over the bridge on the right hand side in the back of the building. The room also faced the water and it was soooo quiet. The bridge to the Dig Site was right outside of our building also. It was a quick 5 minute walk depending on how much site seeing dd wanted to do on the way. We really couldn't have gotten luckier. The bus stop and main building were right over the bridge which was very convenient. We really liked the Pepper Market. The food was very good.

Anyway, I suggest that with whichever resort you choose just send a fax in requesting which building you want to stay in. Although, the request is not guaranteed I think you have a better shot at getting what you want. It's better than not asking at all.

Good Luck!

Personally, I would recommend staying at the WL. It's not a moderate, but you can usually get it rather inexpensively if you try. The resort is not too spread out. If it rains, the two ladies will always have the lobby to hang out in and can go to Roaring Forks for food without ever having to go outside. Then there is the nice boat to take them right over to the Magic Kingdom - which is probably where a 3 year old would like to go. Or they can take the boat to the Contemporary from the WL and catch the monorail there. In the evenings, you're right on Bay Lake and can watch the Electrical Water Pageant. No place better than WL and convenient, too.

September can be very rainy, so the WL does sound like a good idea. The boat to fort wilderness might also be a fun, easy thing to do during the day.

Although there aren't any room only discounts available yet (right?), september is traditionally slow and they might have specials. Keep watching here & Mousesavers.com!

I agree with the last few posts: The Wilderness Lodge is an excellent choice.

It is much less expensive than the other deluxe hotels, but it is a deluxe hotel.... you are a quick boat ride to MK or Fort Wilderness petting zoo (free!).

As mentioned above, you can get around without getting caught in the rain.

Have you considered the villas? With our two little girls, it is nice to have access to a washer and dryer, and a full kitchen for all those bottles and sippy cups!

My vote goes to WL!! I would NOT stay at FQ, because the food court is, IMHO, the WORST of all the mods. I like CSR the best, but you'd have to request cabanas #8(I believe) to be in a good location. Unfortunately, requests are just that; no guarantee on getting that location (GREAT pool for your little one, along with the dig site - awesome!)Dxl is one of my faves, too, but, again, it could mean ALOT of walking.....

...EEEWWWWWWW, your Mickey siggie is really S-C-A-R-Y!!

My favorite resort is CSR. I would recommend requesting (when you make the reservation) and then faxing a request five days before (see wdwig.com) for Cabanas 9B, first floor.

My suggestion would be that if your boss is paying for you to stay at WDW- book a room at the Contemporary Resort and you pay the difference. The ease of this resort is great- no boat ride over- just a monorail hop away. The tower is where we stayed, although the wing rooms are a bit cheaper. The atmosphere is great for a small child- no worrying about her having to be quiet because this hotel always has activity going on. Great pool and also a wonderful game room with a few rides for young ones. CHef Mickeys was always fun to watch from our balcony on the 11th floor. They also have a playground that my 4 year old enjoyed. You could book a room in a wing in front of the playground and your wife could rest on the patio of a 1st floor room while the little one played in front of her. These would be the north wing rooms. Have a great time.:D
