Pregnancy Question

first pregnancy? maybe 18-20 weeks, around the time of the major ultrasound.

Bump. I really want to hear from others. My DD is going into her 25th week and doesn't think she has felt anything. She says she's not sure. We did hear the heartbeat loud and clear at the doctor's office last week. Thanks.

every mom and baby is different my kids were both very active
i was feeling them around my 3 month i think
i had early ultra sounds as i had ? She is she nervous?
If your hearing a good heart beat thats a goo sign but it cant hurt to talk to you doc if she is a worry wort
i am and was always calling mine
good luck

1st baby- 18-22 weeks.

This is my third and sometime in week 14 or 15 I felt what I knew what baby, but only because I know what it feels like....it's incredibly subtle at first...like a faint gas bubble, but lower. Trust me, towards the end of her pregnancy, she will get tired of baby's kicks, rolls and stretches! :p

Has she had an ultrasound yet? I'm surprised if she hasn't...I had my scan last week and this one was rolling ALL over the place! If she's nervous tell her to ask the doctor to roll in the ultrasound machine. Starting in week 28 she has to start doing fetal kick counts every day- should feel 10 movements in an hour.

Hi MM!

One of my babies was a "sleeper" and I didn't feel him move until I was about 51/2 months pregnant. My other baby was an "action Jackson":p , he started moving by 3 months.

I wouldn't stress over it as long as she is having regular Dr's appts. and the heartbeat and growth seem normal.:D

Take heart (pardon the pun) because my ob/gyn told me that the statistics are overwhelmingly on your side for not having a miscarriage once you have heard the heartbeat.

It is a stressful time...but try to help your DD enjoy it. By the way, congratulations!

I would tell your daughter to not worry about it yet. I know I would need my mom to help me relax as much as possible and not stress over things I had no control over.

I felt the "flutter" right around my 12th week.

Ofcourse, as the baby gets bigger it's a distinct feeling of movment.

As long as there is proper growth and the OB hears a heartbeat, I wouldn't worry about it. It's when you've been feeling movement and then you notice that the movement isn't there anymore is when you/she should be concerned.

She should be feeling movement by now. Tell her to ask her Dr to do an ultrasound. Even with a heartbeat, things can still go wrong. My SIL lost a baby at 30 weeks due to a massive abdominal tumor (the baby had the tumor). She said she never really felt the baby move, she had been pregnant before and thought that this baby was just less active, etc.
There can be reasons for her not to be feeling movement (fetal position, location of the placenta etc) but it is better to be on the safe side and make sure.

Thanks. She has had an ultrasound and the baby was moving. She is due for another ultrasound soon because the placenta was "low." I was never nervous during my own pregnancies - but this one!!!!!!

Usually 18-20 weeks.

Has she felt anything at all? Gas?

I would also tell her Dr. and request an ultrasound.
I'm surprised he/she didn't schedule one when he/she found out your daughter hadn't been feeling any movement.

I felt it around 20 weeks with my 1st but then didn't feel anything for a few weeks so try not to worry too much.

Keep us posted.

You have to calm down. You are mom, you are there to support her. Let her make decisions, give her advice if she asks, and to be there for her to lean on when she needs it.
She has enough to worry about without you adding to it. We all know you care, now it's time to be strong for her.

It took me forever to realize that I was feeling the baby move. For the first few weeks, it felt like I had a muscle twitching in my stomach. When I finally figured it out, I just felt like DUH!

Maybe she doesn't realize what she's feeling. Best wishes to both of you!
