I have had 5 headaches since I have been pregnant (2 months.) This last one I have had off and on for 3 days! I had one headache when I was pregnant with DD.

I am chalking it up to hormones. I have had no morning sickness, but yesterday if I moved my head around I felt like I needed to throw up! Has anyone else had these when they were pregnant? Any tricks besides taking medicine?

I just keep hoping it gets better in the second trimester! :( :D

with daniel I never had morning sickness, but I did have occasional headaches that first trimester. My dr. said that it was hormones, so I didn't really worry. Glad I avoided the nausea!

keep an eye on them, and definitely mention to your dr. Headaches can also be caused by blood pressure issues. Its funny, I had headaches at the beginning when my bp was fine, but at the end I had PIH and didn't have headaches :)

only tricks would be rest in a dark room for a while, make sure you stay hydrated and eat enough.

First congratulations on the baby.

You could try sitting down, closes your eyes and rubbing the area that the pain is coming from. Sometimes that works for me.

Secondly I was fortunate this time around not to have morning sickness but I haven't had headaches either. Backaches I have.

I know things seem to be better in the third month, not sure why though. For me it has been 9 years between pregnancy, kind of forget things.

Have you talked to your Doctor about this? They maybe able to recommend something for you. I know they say to take Tylenol but how much is too much?

I seem to have more headaches when I'm pregnant also. No trouble with blood pressure though. It may be partly because when I'm not pregnant, I'll take an Advil and it's gone....but during pregnancy it's just one Tylenol here and there.

I'm about 8 weeks and have already had 3 headaches. Bless you on the no morning sickness. The last 2 days are the first that I've NOT thrown up....:(

Here's to a healthy pregnancy!!!

With my first pregnancy I had headaches, one was so bad they had to give me a shot of demerol. Then after I delivered the headaches kind of hung around and turned into migraines. But I think there are more issues there then just the pregnancy. Then with baby #2, three months into the pregnancy my headaches just went away. Boy, that was a glorious 6 months. Then 2 days after delivery they were back in full force. Now that I am no longer nursing I need to go get my hormones checked. I would assume that your headaches are due to all the hormones, especially so early in your pregnancy, you have so many changes going on. I would mention it to you doctor and hopefully in a few months, they will go away. If for any reason you have a headache and it makes you vomit (other then normal morning sickness), make sure to get medical attention so you do not get dehydrated.

My DW is pregnant with our third (due in December) and has suffered with headaches and nausea from day one and neither have begun to go away. It frustrates her because she hates being virtually useless which is what the nausea renders her. The doctors haven't been much help and with almost six months left to go she's about to pull her hair out! She spends most of her time lying down which helps...some. The best thing for it we've decided is a quick...and painless...delivery of this new kid!

I had headaches in my first trimester. You've probably already tried this, but the first thing I always did was make sure I was getting enough to drink when they started. If that didn't work, sometimes I'd have a cup of hot tea. The caffiene seemed to help, and I figured that it had less bad effects than medicine. I think I did end up taking Tylenol once or twice when I had gotten to the point that I decided the lack of sleep was worse than medication. I found that I could just take one (regular strength, not extra strength) and I would get relief even though the dose is two.

I know that some people say that prenatal vitamins give them headaches, but I never took them, and I'm guessing that you don't either.

Thanks everyone! :)
DH is a Chiropractor and I get adjusted on a regular basis. That usally seems to help them, but it hasn't touched this last one.
I just took a 2 hour nap with DD and that seemed to help a lot. At night I also seem to be really tense. I have been having pregnancy dreams already. I wake up and my jaw is clenched.

I have an appointment with my midwife next week and will definitely discuss the headaches with her. Hopefully she can suggest some alternative remedies for me! :)
