We just found out we are expecting! We are going to WDW Feb 29-Mar 7. I will be about 4 months then. My question for those who have done the parks pregnant:

Would you prefer to go when it is slightly cooler or warmer? I was kicking around the idea of going when it is warmer. Thanks!

Congrats! I would definitely pick cooler weather. Then again, I don't do well in the heat not pregnant so I can't imagine WDW, pregnant and 100 degrees!!! I went when I was pregnant but I was only about 6 or 7 weeks. I left home feeling great and morning sickness kicked in while we were there so it was a tough trip. 4 months would have been a perfect time for me though...I felt great and was not that big yet. Make sure to drink lots and lots of water...even if you are not thirsty...your body needs it. Rest, don't go all day non-stop. I was very conservative with rides and did not ride anything with a warning. I just didn't want to take a chance. Hope you have a wonderful trip :)

I went to DW in September at about 6 weeks pregnant. It was hot and I was miserable. I was constantly drinking and still thirsty. I am about 4 months now and I still don't think I would like to be doing DW in warm weather. We got 6 inches of snow here last week though and I was fine. So I would think cooler rather than warmer would be better. At 4 months I am feeling great though. All day Christmas shopping sprees and I can still stay up til 10 p.m. You'll be visiting the bathroom alot but not as much as the first trimester. Feeling the way I feel right now, I would love to be going to DW in February.

Hot is bad enough not pregnant, and you'll probably find you mind the heat more when pregnant. You can always add a layer if you need it, but you can only take off so much. ;)

Cooler all the way!! I was at WDW in September when I was 24 weeks pregnant and while it was definitely doable (I drank LOTS of water and took it really easy), I would have preferred it to be a little cooler.

Congratulations!!!

I've been to WDW while 13 weeks, 4 months, and 6 months and I'd pick the cooler months over the warmer months any day!!

we just went last month and I was 25-26 weeks when we went. The weather was great high 70's and low 80's during day and 60's at night. NO rain at all.. My only complaint was we were there 10 days and went to the parks almost everyday. So I think we did way too much, but it was totally my fault. Drink alot of water and sit down as much as possible.

Thanks for asking this. My wife will be 4 months pregnant at the time we go to WDW in Jan, and I was wondering how other pregant women faired.

I went in April and May, at 16 and 21 weeks pregnant, and it was really nice temperature wise- I think it was in the 70s and 80s, but I just took it easy and made sure to eat well and drink plenty. We contemplated another quickie trip in July, but decided that we'd skip it because I was much more tired then, and walking A LOT slower.
There are lots of attractions you can still enjoy while pregnant too- I rode Soarin' quite a few times!!

I was 5 months when I went to WDW in Oct 05 and 7 months at Disneyland in Dec 05. The heat/humidity in Orlando that Oct limited how long I could go during the day. DD was 3 then, so it was good for her to go back and rest anyway. After walking and being on my feet all day, my back really ached. I brought some of those heat patches that you can put on your back and that helped. I followed Disney's guidelines for rides, except on the Kilimijaro Safari, which I rode without any problems (I based my decision on what other pg women on this board said). There is actually quite a lot you can ride pregnant. Basically anything without excessive speed or drops and anything you would take a small child on you can probably ride safely.

Based on the fact that I swell in the heat and humidity of Fl alone and how much I swelled while I was pregnant and walking around I would not have fit on any rides (or the bus/monorail/or boats) if I went to FL in the hot months while pregnant.
Can I ask what makes you think warmer might be better?

I can't take the heat in the parks even when I'm not pregnant! That's why we are going next week! Trust me you will def. want to go in the cooler months! You will be more comfortable.

We went in September when I was 19/20 weeks. My pregnancy was pretty textbook, in that when that 2nd semester hit, I got my energy back. Since we've already been a few times, I didn't have to be commando. I would hate to go pregnant as my first trip! The only thing I felt I was missing out on was Expedition Everest since it was new to us. I didn't think September was too hot. I wouldn't want to go at 7-8 months pregnant in the heat, but 4 months was fine.

I spent March-July in FL working and playing at WDW pregnant and was fine for most of it. I did get sick during the first Star Wars weekend, but we were standing in alot of lines and it was unreasonably hot and humid. I barely got home and I was really sick. I ended up being sick all night, so I made sure to take it easy after that. I tried to sit as much as possible and stay in the AC too.
I found that the worst part was waiting in lines because I was crabby at people and the weather and by the time I got to the ride I was so irritated that I barely enjoy it. The other thing to keep in mind is to have snacks available in your bag, there is nothing worse than being "starving" and having to wait in line for food. I always had granola bars and hard candy in my purse and it came in handy many times! Good luck!!

Oh yeah, wear the most comfortable shoes you have, I recommend Crocs!!!!!
