Preferred vs standard location at BWV

Do the villas look anything on the inside like the Boardwalk Inn? I am trying a studio. In the pictures, the decor looks very different from what we've had on the inn side. Are there indeed bright peach and yellow walls and multi-colored quilts and a striped blue and white sleeper? In the hotel, the rooms were all pretty much blue and white with some deep pink flowers.

They are different color wise. The villas include a kitchenette.

Just returned yesterday from BWV Boardwalk view room 4017/4015. Ater spending many many year there< I would take the Boardwalk view every time. It is simply awesome.

I would go for the standard view - less points and the view is great

I actually staye dina preferred view facing the pool and could not see out my balcony. My preferred view I sat out on the balcony and sipped coffee and looked at the river. It was very nice.

I have not stayed on the BW view - I imagine that would be nice

I just booked two room with the preferred views, but I didn't realize you had to request the Boardwalk view.

So I just call and ask for the Boardwalk view and they put that down as a preference? Is that correct?

Thanks,
DJ

BW view is no longer just a request, but a specific type of preferred view room. You'll have to call back to change to a BW view, but there are a limited number of them, so you may not be able to get one. Can't hurt to try, though!

Thanks so much! I'll guess I'll have to see what becomes available, since we're still waiting on renting right now.... :goodvibes

I called and there were no Boardwalk views. I didn't understand the B/P thing in the book. I thought it meant Boardwalk Preferred view :confused3 . So I learned something new for the future! Thanks! BUT not all was lost! I was able to change us to a standard view which I had wanted in the first place, but on Monday they only had preferred views the all of the days that I wanted. So I saved 8 points! It was worth the call.

We stayed at BWV over Halloween adn had a Broadwalk view. It was great!! We were able to watch the Illuminations arieal fireworks and once we relized it, the Magic Kingdom fireworks too! It was really cool since it was raining out & we could sit & watch in the comfort of our place. You could even hear some of the music.

Wow That view is awesome!

We are going to WDW next week and I'm meeting with my guide to discuss the possibility of adding on some BWV points.

I was on the fence but I am totally convinced now, thanks. I think :rotfl: .

OK--we booked a guaranteed Boardwalk View studio! So excited!

Any other requests I should note--any particular location in that category that is something special? Upper or lower floor? :cloud9:

does anyone know the percentage of standard view and preferred rooms?

I think standard and boardwalk views are about 20% each, the other 60% is preferred pool/garden.

Anyone have any suggestions on this? :flower:

Had a great boardwalk view last May, overlooked the center court in front of the Boat Docks. An excellent view. :Pinkbounc

View is not a big issue to me so I would always try and get a standard view to conserve points. We just got back frothe BWVs and had a preferred view which looked over the canal to the S&D and in the distance TOT & EE. Several years ago when wetayed there with a standard view we were looking right at the main entrance. I actually enjoyed watching all the activity and it was very pretty all lit up at night too.

I just got back from a great stay at BWV preferred Boardwalk view. The villa had an awesome :cloud9: view and was very convenient - close to the pool, the boardwalk, lobby - everything. IMO, yes, I would pay extra for this room type.

BTW, I requested a Boardwalk view 7 months out (first day I could) and was waitlisted the entire time (F&W). I asked for availability on check-in.

When was your trip? We are planning for Jan of 2007 so I am curious of what are chances are (given we own at SSR)?
