Preferred Site booked 10/9-10/12

Hi everyone! I am a first time poster and hope everyone will share their wisdom with me. I currently have a preferred site reserved 10/9-10/12. It was all that was available when I booked in April. I will have two families consisting of four adults and two children. We have two Coleman weather master 6 tents each with a footprint of 17x9'. I had hoped to have two tents and a screened tent to go over the picnic table along with at least one of our vehicles at the site. Is this feasible? I have camped once at the Fort and know the tent/pop up sites have larger sand areas and are more inclined to tent camping. Should I be checking daily to try to obtain a tent site or should we be okay in the preferred? Thank you so much in advance!

Also, if anyone can find me a tent site for 10/9-10/12 I would be happy to let you have my preferred!!

It depends, some preferred can handle that. Be sure to let reservations know your equipment.

Excited to report I was able to book a tent/pop up site for my weekend! Any advice on how to set up my site in a way that will allow my two tents to be on the sand?

Well, Denise's advice still holds. Get a note put on your reservation for the Tent site stating you have 2 tents and their dimensions.

Generally speaking, the Tent sites in loop 2000 are bigger than the sites in Tent loop 1500 (the only two Tent loops) although there are a few sites in 1500 that could handle your setup. Dimensions are not standardized so give the Fort enough info to put you in a site that will accommodate you.
