Does anyone know what buildings are now "preferred" at Coronado Springs?
I did a search on the Disney website and it says that preferred rooms are:
"All rooms have 2 queen-size beds, hardwood furniture, desk and chair, ottoman, vanity area with sink, a ceiling fan and a bathroom. All rooms are non-smoking. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. Amenities include flat-panel TV, in-room wall safe, voice mail, high-speed Internet access (additional fee), hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini-fridge and coffee maker. A crib is available upon request. These rooms are located closer to the convention center and main building and offer views of the lake, courtyard or parking lot."
Sounds like the preferred rooms are used for conventioneers, but also have preference for the main building.
If you want to be close to the main building and don't mind if there is a large convention, I would book it - if not, I wouldn't.
That being said, case in point, POR has changed their categories this year - and they have a preferred room category. I like to be in Oak Manor and considered that to be in the description of close to the main amentities. I was pleasantly surprised when I booked my trip a few weeks ago for this year, that Oak Manor was not considered preferred, even though I thought it would be - nice surprise.
